For the second time in two years, the client of MacLauren Healthcare and patients have been trapped in large -scale data violations. The Michigan Healthcare Provider recently confirmed in a notification letter filed in the Mine Attorney General’s Office that between July 17, 2024 and August 3, 2024, with hackers, more than 743,000 patients had personal identified information.
According to Cyber News, the Cancer Institute, McLaren Healthcare, was involved in the violation, which compromised sensitive personal information, including names, social security numbers, driver’s license numbers, medical records and health insurance details.
Threatening actors can use such information for more malicious measures, such as theft of medical identity.

In this example, MacLauren Healthcare did not provide any details about the type of cybertack or nature. In 2023, the company was suffering from a Ranksware attack by Black Kate, also known as Alpha Wei, who later published the results of the attack on its Dark Web Blog. In this example, similar personal information was taken. In addition, medical record numbers, claim information, and diagnosis information were included in the violation.
The MacLauren Healthcare operates 3100 licensed beds and covers 732,000 people in its health rehabilitation organization, and its net income was $ 6.6 billion in 2024.
