Listen, I’m not a Nicon heater. In fact, I have two vintage nicen movie cameras (only one of which works). I also know that Nikan makes some excellent cameras, which produce beautiful pictures.
As this happens, we also use two Nicon Z7IIs here for Tom’s Guide UK Review Studios for our product photography. And this is due to the precise imaging virtue – 45MP sensor gives enough space for crops, and Nicor glass is fast enough to meet professional standards.
However, I never really felt forced to buy a modern ninth. I know it’s a source, but they are just, fine… boring. Putting ZF aside, today’s Nicons do not have the attention of a military fault, or Sony’s cool ‘content creator’ element. I really never remember seeing a young man with Nikan.
You can like
When I think of the Nican cameras, I see Toyota Corolla. Well made, eligible for your job, prime taxi fodder. But hardly there is a hip clinching drive. A grandfather.
This week, though, I have finally shaken my prejudice. I have spent the past few days in testing the Nicon Z5II for my upcoming review, and I am really struggling to think about these reasons why you will not buy this camera. Perhaps I am older than now. Or maybe the reason Z5II offers an unbeaten price easily.
Z6iii Light?
When we experienced it last year, we loved Nikan Z6iii. It is a real professional hybrid, which is full of pro features for both steel and video. I’m talking AF, 120fps drive, 6k internal raw internal internal. This is a poor powerhouse.

Z5ii is not so. But it is neither far. My Personal Camera-Currently a Fijmal X-T5- architecture is used for photography (my hobby) and location product photography (my work). I do not need all the features of Z6III, but I need beautiful photos, dual card slots, IBIS, strong article detection AF and excellent handling when shooting at speeds.
Like the $ 2,499 Z6III, Z5II provides all these items at a very low cost of $ 1,699 at a very low price. If you are a fans, semi -professional or even a pro photographer, Z5II offers a lot of hell for money, and you should top the short list.

Nicon’s closest rival is $ 2,199 Canon EOS R6 Mark II, which is very similar. Canon’s AF is in a different league, but that does not mean that Z5II is faulty. And I’m not sure the Delta between the two is worth $ 500 canon premium.
Of course, the entire frame domain of the mid -market is 33MP King Sony A7 IV. But with the $ 2,499 MSRP, Z5II has the same as A7iv undercut that it is difficult to justify more than 8.5 megapixels.
Easy handling

Two days in the test, I took Z5II on the Frankfurt press trip, photographing a new product in a busy program filled with other journalists and content creators. It was a bit rotten to get the product, and when I did, I usually had a strange angle.
In these situations, a camera Is necessary Handle intuitively – you don’t have time to mess up the settings. Z5II was one of the easiest cameras I used in the shoot.

The grip is comfortable, the layout is sensible. Almost all are all behind the left, and instead of finding FN buttons with the above plate, as you will find many best mirror lace cameras, near the lens, there are two FN buttons inside the grip – just as the FiFilm GFX100 II. In my opinion, this is the most intuitive place to host the FN buttons, which weirdly remove the need to bend the finger in the upper plate and in the upper plate.
Despite its cost, Z5II handles like a professional camera. It was a great computer for photography at location, and I have no doubt that it will be better in a studio or wedding environment.
It’s in black and white there
As I mentioned above, my primary camera is Fujifilm X-T5. This is a capable actor for work, but also offers my personal needs.
I shoot in black and white, so a driving element in the choice of my personal camera is the standard of mono profiles. I apply through EVF during shooting, vice versa and work with shadows I want to see my colorful profile when I am frame and exposed.

This is one of the major reasons for using Fijmal, because I didn’t find anything (except Likika Monochrome), which flares my adversaries just like ancient – highly contrary, sharp shadows. On the bright sunny day, the shooting of a concrete slab is much better than that.
He said, “The use of Nicon’s mono profiles on the day of sunny sunny day in Frankfurt proved to be amazing behavior.” Especially the deep mono profile, just amazing to architecture, is quite the opposite.

It naturally lacks the film quality of Ecro, but only Frankfurt’s sleek is the completion of modest and neo -photoorist architecture.
Clearly, I took my military fault with me that day, but seeing Z5II’s output, he dropped it back to the hotel.
Switching?
I got my first Fijmal 10 years ago, and I owned a total of five pice -in. I have experienced with other cameras, but in the past few years I have rarely thought of changing the brands permanently, at least in the Nican.

Z5II has really considered me that I need a long period of time. Light or semi -professional work IT, it is an extraordinary camera for money. There is no other now you can find a new camera with the balance of the full frame good and pro features in 69 1,699.
Honorable, the camera is currently between discussing the Fijfal X-E5, which costs only 69,699. As an XE lover, this price tag has faced severe frustration, but especially when consider how much camera you are taking for the same amount with Z5II.
Earlier, my age confrontation with pockets, I really think Z5II is also an ideal camera for young photographers. Directly out of the course of photography, or upgrade to your first full frame mirror for commissions? Z5II how incredible investments will make to help you open your career.
