I had the equivalent of Ephane Fanny’s digital the next day. I opened my inbox and saw… email. Only email. There was no advertisement, there were no AI-gender abstract, nor was there any indication. After years of Gmail use it was a strange, still welcome, feeling. The check for my inbox is no longer felt as an argument with the algorithm. The reason for this is that I turned to the fast mail earlier this year.
All this began when I began to remove myself from the American Big Tech platforms, where Google is sitting high on the list. I wanted something more private and more personal, with less flowers. The Australian company, Fast Mail, grabbed my eye as a suitable alternative to Gmail. In six months, I am sure I made the right choice.
Will you leave Gmail for another private item?

Why did I leave Gmail and Google Calendar
Nathan Dreasher / Android Authority
This was not just because Gmail is part of a major monopoly US tech corporation. This was not just a crazy quantity of the data collected. It was a disorder UI and was pushed towards AI-driving features for which I never asked.
In the meantime, the Google Calendar does its job, but it has begun to feel that it is trying to become more than that. The Gemini calendar is snatching more and more, trying to be helpful but is on the way.
All of this felt more corporate than personal. What I wanted was a fast, private email that respected my time and allowed me to work. I wanted a calendar that was reliable in the platforms without any other vector for disturbance.
I seriously considered the proton mail. I have a lot of respect for what the company is making. However, I have occasionally heard of others about delivery hiccups, and I cannot afford to lose an important follow -up with an article or an important follow -up with an client. Vishnita was non -dialogue. The proton was out.
How does Fast Mail fit in my daily life

Fast mail handles all my email needs. The interface is clean and responsible. No tabs, no promotion. Only email. I can choose between a folder or tag structure, and I went with the tags. This is one of the things I enjoy about Gmail.
The fast mail app is more than just email. The upper left is a dropdown that allows me to go to calendar, contacts, notes, and even the cloud drive. The base plan comes with 50 GB storage, which is not bad for $ 60 a year.
The built -in calendar has been amazingly strong. It is completely compatible with the app’s email side, so appointments and meetings can be added quickly. I can share calendar events with others, even if they don’t use fast mail, and it looks great.

One of the features I didn’t expect was the filtering system. I can completely overcome how messages are arranged and what is saved and flagged. It’s like a Gmail label, but keeping the user in mind.
Notes are simple, but they work, and immediately harmonize all devices. However, they are not as powerful or sharp as Google Caps, so I still use it as my basic notes. He said, I was not looking for notes.
Which I got by switching

The biggest benefit of my life is mental comfort. Fast mail is not tracking me. My messages are not being profile, and the fast mail is not trying to sell me. I pay it once a year, and it provides my emails.
I also received reliability. Everything feels sharp, messages are loaded immediately and folders respond immediately. Search works great. There are no AI engine or smart features along the way.

Fast mail gives me control. I have control over my email and my calendar, and I can decide how things look and behave. Such ownership is extraordinary in modern digital services.
Of course, there are still limits

Nothing is perfect. The notes are naked, and as I said, I don’t use it often. This is certainly not an alternative to the cap. There is no deep integration with sound assistants, which can be a deal breaker for some people. I’m fine with him myself.
When it comes to setting up it, there is a learning curve. I use a custom domain and wandered with my host’s MX records, which I know very little about. Once the setup, however, it turned out of the way.
And it’s not free. In this case, I am happy to pay for something working. I don’t like to be finally.
Fast mail gives me what I want

This is a private and reliable alternative to Google’s apps suite. Certainly, it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of AI, but I’m seeing it as a sales point.
I still use a Google Cap, and I’m fine with it. I didn’t prepare it to change it, and the built -in notes feature that comes with fast mail is an extra bonus more than a basic feature for me. It was about finding tools that were not Americans and respected my time and privacy. Fast mail has done just that.
If you want to get away from the Big Tech Oligopolis, fast mail is more capable. You do not need to sacrifice use, because the fast mail is not trying to be smart. It just does its job well.
