- Apple replaced the dumb switch with a custom action button on the iPhone 15 Pro models.
- One Plus recently copied the move and replaced its famous alert slider with a custom button on One Plus 13s.
- Another Android brand can follow the suit soon and add custom buttons to the next phone.
After adding a silent switch to each iPhone model since the original, Apple dropped it in favor of a custom button starting with the iPhone 15 Pro models in 2023. Although the move faced some frustration, Apple did not change the course and last year the change increased to all four iPhone 16 models. One Plus recently followed it, in which its famous alert slider was replaced by the custom button at One Plus 13S. Now, a new leakage suggests that another Android brand can soon jump on the custom button band wagon.
Tipster Smart Pukuchu recently took to Webo to disclose that a custom button would be offered in Vivo’s upcoming X -Fold 5 Foldable. A direct picture of the smartphone shows three buttons, including the volume rocker, the power button with an integrated fingerprint scanner, and the new custom button.
The leak also shows us the custom interface for this button, which looks similar to the iOS settings page for the action button. In this interface, the icons suggest that users will be able to silence the X -Fold 5, launch camera, turn the flashlight, find songs, and enable DND with this button, among other things.
