Nintendo Switch 2 is here, and I have decided to buy PS Vita instead. We check the latest (and beyond it) on Tom’s guide here, but here I am with a portable console over a decade – but I’m loved every minute of it.
Out All The handheld consoles I have played over the years, PS Vita always stands. I mean, special PlayStation Games in your pocket? Come on, it’s difficult to kill.
And despite her age, Sony’s dear device has collected the dye hard community to a great extent, so Sony canceled her plans to quit PlayStation Store Support due to a considerable response.

Perhaps this is the heart memories of 4 Golden or Metal Gear solid thunderstorms: a snake eater on the fly on fly, or the price was reduced to a lot of dealer on the other -handed retailer on which I knew (it was basically), but I bought the most cell -cell handheld consoles for one of the most cell handheld consoles. It was not due to lack of availability, because Nintendo Switch 2 Rescue Here has been kind in the UK, nor was it not affected by it – 4K in Donkey Kong Banan? Yes, please but PS Vita returned me for some reason.
Now, this is not hot. You won’t find me to say that the PS Vita Switch is better than 2 (it’s not). But over the past month, gaming on Vita has given me a sense of facilities and features that have been lost in translations in many years when it comes to portable consoles, and for now, I can’t find it enough.
A witty catalog of sports

I wandered about how Switch 2 affected me but I wouldn’t buy one by 2026, and to summarize it, it is mainly to do with the sports list that is ready to play.
I mean, Mario Cart World has fully embraced the joke that enjoyed a rage for the series, and it was an explosion that I had an explosion playing with him in the office (when needed to lunch when he needs blue shells in it?)
This is not like a system seller at all, such as, Zelda’s symptoms: Breath of the Wild, though. There are upgrades for it and the kingdom tears, as well as other major titles like cyberpank 2077, Street Fighter 6 and others, but it is slightly thin on these interesting costs (for now). I can see why our own Tony Polano is bored after a week after switch 2.
Well, very unfairly, this has not happened with PS Vita. There are more than a thousand games to check, and you can’t play from knockout costs to everlasting classic anywhere, which are always able to review. And fortunately, I already have a sports collection for the system.
Watching titles such as inches: Golden Abis, the total zone: fences, gravity rush and terrace take full advantage of both in terms of hardware graphic and feature, whether it is changing the screen, tapping the backpad or (laughing) with 0.3 MP camera. There is something special about playing such games, especially designed for handheld.

Then there are titles that actually do the best when it comes to motion. I am making my way through Sally Cooper Triye (then thieves at the time) during my journey and travel, but here is Jack and Dexter Tri, Rachit and Clinic Collection, Metal Gear Solid HD collection and many classic many. And this is just the tip of the gameberg.
Long Long RPG are excellent from such system, and PS Vita personality can remove 4 Golden, Final Fantasy XHD Remster and Odine Crah LiefarSier. Oh, and I have to be amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, surprised.

This switch is not like 2 (or original), it does not have the mouse’s controllers and its own immunity. And yes, it will play the game on a lot of efficiency (if you play Borderland 2 on PS Vita, you will know what I mean).
But many sports really got their destinations on PS Vita, or not. This is the thing I have found missing in the best handheld gaming consoles, and I hope that Switch 2 involves possessing more titles that are perfect for its system – not just the game you can play, well, somewhere else.
Actually pocketable

I can talk about PS Vita 1000 staining O LED display or how its battery can run 5 hours or more, depending on the game I have played (more than 2.5 hours on switch 2, at least), but I really enjoy the most? This is size.
Have achieved portable gaming Big. Switch 2 has a 7.9 -inch LCD display, steam deck OLED measures 7.4 inches and MSI claws come in 8 AI+ 8 inches. On the contrary, PS Vita only offers a 5 -inch display, and it is fully suitable.
It is always nice to have a big screen for the game, but the big is not always good, especially when the talk is portable. The Vita measures 7.2 x 3.4 x 0.6 inches and weighs 7.7 ounces, and to make this system pocket it is just the right size of the lightweight size. As I, when I am in motion, I literally slip it in my pocket.
This cannot be said about the majority of modern handhelds. The switch comes to 2 10.71 x 4.57 x 0.55 inches and 18.8 ounces. Portable? Yes, for a bag or carrying case – not pocket. You are not fixing at every time of public transport journey.
A small console can travel a long distance when and where it can be used, especially when it packs a great selection of sports, and this is another thing I remember about late handheld consoles. It seems natural for my PS Vita to slip during outside visits, which I can’t say with recent handheld consoles.
Is PS Vita still worth it?

PS Vita was not close to the hardware seller, Sony wanted to lack her support, but you still get a lot of secrets that it is ahead of its time – and honestly, I can see what the reason is.
It has made me realize that handheld gaming is really a different animal these days, but not All For better. Right now, I’m enjoying PS Vita’s small and many sports, probably more than if I choose to take the switch 2 at the moment.
Whether you want to trip the PlayStation Lane with many classic titles, never found to face Sony’s handheld happiness or are looking to see if the next rumor is already a lot of turmoil before the PlayStation Handheld arrives. Of course, do not expect Nintendo’s latest console graphical or performance height.
Once the Nintendo Switch 2 I nails its exception lineup and puts its portable power to the limit, I will kick myself, but in the meantime, I put PS Vita in my pocket.
