The Samsung Foundari produced the first four Google Tenser chips – G1, used by Pixel 9 series in Pixel 6. Internal people are now saying that Google has united and the next five generations, G9, will be replaced by TSMC, Tancer G5, through the TSMC – it will be used in Pixel 14 series in Pixel 10 (coming later).
It has been reported as a trauma for executives in Samsung who are now calling for meetings to analyze what happened wrong and potential routes for recovery were charted.
In addition to the Ecinos Division of Samsung, Google was the last large chip set client that used the Samsung foundr specially. Qualcomm still uses them for Snapdragon, but it is the choice of Snapdragon 4 General 2 and 6 General 3.
Other companies such as NVIDIA used Samsung for GPU, but went to TSMC several years ago – a major discount Nintendo Switch 2’s Tigra T -239 chip, but it is manufactured on an old 8NM node.
So, what next? Google will get 3nm tanker G5 chips for 10 models coming later this year. Samsung seems to have lost the modem business. As far as GPU is concerned, it will come from imagination.
Tancer G 5 will focus on improving efficiency rather than bringing more performance – this work will be left for Tancer G6. Google is also working on the tanker chip for smart watches, though it is unclear which fans will use for it.
As far as Samsung is concerned, the founders are allegedly seeing better yields from the 2nm Gaa (“Gate”) node. This is the good news for Eknos 2600, which will be allegedly presented in the Galaxy S26 series – if it performs well, it can be an exhibition of Samsung foundr works, which will help the company try to attract older users away from TSMC.
