Seattle -based tech company, which specializes in smart home products and wireless cameras, has issued a major security update, which is expected to be rebuilt. The company has suffered from numerous security failures for the past few years, especially when thousands of consumers were accessing videos recorded from other people’s homes as a result of AWS closure. This event, folded with the history of the company’s history lack of security flaws, even leading it New York Times More than a year ago, the recommendation of Wyze Products clearly closes.
Now, a YouTube video announcement that the AWS closure is referred to, is introducing a new layer of visual security that the company is calling the Viz certified view. The additional layer of security works by embedding a unique user identity in the wez camera firmware on the Setup. As a result of the camera, ID on stamps, every photo, video and live stream. Before any device can access this footage, the visuals software will check that the embedded ID is a matching one for the user before allowing the footage or photos to be viewed.
The visits are based on the fact that this new layer is merely following its already strong security structure, which the company somewhat meaningless says is that “barbed wire fences, bobby traps, security guards, acid sharks, laser scanners, and AI Robot Guard dogs.” Although it is not mentioned in the press release, the video of the announcement states that due to the hardware limits, the certified view can never be found in old models like Viz Cam Pan V1 and V2.
Wes says he has been pushing this update towards its popular models since the beginning of April, and users of these models need to update their firmware and app to get the update. Which models are not clear at all, as Wes also stated that some other models will receive updates in the coming weeks and months, but once again it is not clear which model they are referring to.
