The company announced today that Vimo’s independent cars are returning to New York City in July. Cars will be manually driven, not unlike Vimo’s mapping tests in 2021, but the company says it wants to eventually seek the same independent ride -driven service in San Francisco, Phoenix and Los Angeles.
The New York State law does not currently allow driving without a human driver, which is a clear barrier to a company like Vemo. As a bridge to offering his full service, Vemo says it has applied for a permit with the New York Department of Transportation to operate autonomous vehicles behind the wheel. If the NYC DOT approves the permit, the company says it will be the first “test of autonomous vehicles” in New York City.

In New York, Vemo’s previous tour and entertainment was focused on navigating the city’s traffic and dealing with icy and icy weather. The company that enters each city offers a new challenge, but currently Vemo that works in places is primarily in the dryer, hot climate. For now, keeping the state and the city on the ship with independent vehicles seems to be a major problem.
Outside New York, Vemo is increasing. The company recently extended its service area around San Francisco and Los Angeles, came to Austin in March with the help of Uber in March, and in the next year, many other cities plan to offer either payment rides or its self -driving system.
