I’ve been writing about iPads for years on the Tom Guide here, and I think I am more excited for iPados 26 than any member’s update in recent memory.
This is partly because I have considered the last few repetitions of Ipado considerably. But even if Apple’s slate was on a hot stack, I think iPados 26 will still be important because it is likely to make the iPad very useful as a productive device.
When iPados 26 arrives at this fall, it will make a lot of changes to your pill, but the most exciting window system for my money.

The new features of the window may not seem interesting as AI improvement or screen upgrades, but for those of us who regularly work on tablets, it can be a game changer that allows the iPad to change the best MacBook in your next work journey.

Although you can now do enough multi -task on the iPad using a stage manager, splatwave and slide over feature, it is not very flexible or intuitive.
Many people do not even know how to use the features of the spiral screen on the iPad, and even when you master them, the iPados is hard to see how many apps you can be open and what size they are.
But with iPados 26, we find a new way of interfaceing with the iPad that allows you to tap and drag a new arrow to the lower right corner of an app to change its size. Flicing an app on the edge of your screen and it will fly there and stick, which will allow you to be two, three or four apps on the screen at the same time.
In addition, apps are receiving a new menu bar that you can ask for drag down from the top of the screen. This menu will look like a scary like the menu bar on your Mac, so expect to see the sub -section such as the file, editing, icon and more.
Apps will also have traditional red, yellow and green buttons in the corner of the top like Mac. When you minimize an app and then reopen it, it will pop up in the same form and you have left it, even the iPad will be made like a bit more.

It personally has the ability to become a huge game changer for me because I have been taking laptops to suppress worldwide events for almost two decades, and I’m sick.
On multiple occasions I have tried to dig my laptop and get it with just one member, but I am disappointed every time with the harsh limits of iPado. Apple’s tablets are now like MacBox that they all ship inside the Apple Silicon, yet for some reason the company unnecessarily puts the iPad into handcuffs with handcuffs more convenient app stores and interfaces. And even when you get iPad apps so that you can go on your work, you can use them only one or two at a time.
This is not better than anything, but it has not been good for me to dig my laptop and work with a member. Sometimes I need to refer to the types of types or files when writing the article, then write and edit the pictures to go to this article, and I am considered a nightmare to be a nightmare on the iPad.
In 2022, it seemed that when Apple introduced the stage manager in iPados 16, things would make things easier, which would allow you to turn back between four apps together. But after using it for a month or two, I changed the stage manager and never thought about it, because it was very burdensome and unpleasant that in fact it could help me do anything.
Apple is not getting rid of the stage manager, but I suspect I will use it more after iPados 26 ships in September. I am already tested the initial version of the window features in the iPados 26 manufacturer beta, and I already like to use it until it is completed.
Of course, if you hate the new window control in iPados 26, you can disable it. Apple is improving the iPad Control Center and adding a new button that you can kill to qualify or disable window controls, so the old way to use your iPad is just a tapy away.
But personally, now when I have taste windows on the iPad, I can never imagine going back to old ways.
