It was a busy week. Both Apple and Google presented major software events – Apple’s WWD BLDC detailed the next version of its iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac, and Apple TV software, while Google released Android 16 in public.
Apple’s iOS 26 has a new design called liquid glass, emphasizing transparent and changing visuals, which is affected by vision. And yes, we jumped from iOS 18 to 26 due to consistency. The iPad also got a major update with the increase in the API of the background works – now you can eventually call it a computer!
Huawei’s Pura is 80 series here, and the Pura 80 is unique. It has a 1 -inch main camera, an amazing screen, a large battery, but this is not a unique part. It packs 50MP 1/1.28 inch sensor connected to two zoom lenses. Huawei fitted a complex moving mechanism that changes between the two lenses. You get 3.7x and 9.4x optical zoom with sensor shift OIS. This is effective that you can capture shots on F/2.4 aperture with a focal length of 83 mm or with 212 mm focal length.
Pura 80 series is available in China. PURA 80 Pro and Pro+ already, while the PURA 80 is on the ultra -pre -order and will start shipping on June 26. Vanilla Pura 80 is not yet available.
Google released its stable Android 16 on its pixel lineup, returning to Pixel 6 series. However, the two biggest changes to Android 16 are not part of this first stable release. We’re talking about content 3 expressions and new desktop mode, which will arrive later.
There is no sign of the golf interface – and the dot matrix display that is rumored to replace it.

Oppo quietly launched the A5I and A5I Pro, though they are not fully a novel design. Both are based on Snapdragon 6S4G General 1, a brand of Snapdragon 662. Oppo A5I Pro is available in the Philippines – now, it has been sold exclusively by Shape, but will start from June 20 and will also be available from Oppo’s Techtok Shop and Lisada.
