A great feature is that I look forward to iOS 26, iPados 26 and Macos Tahao 26, and this is one that Apple should have included in the first: call and text screening. It can work more than prevent me from talking to strangers – this can protect me from scammers wanting to steal my information or my identity.
Like the features of Google and Samsung, Apple’s call screening weights checked unknown callers to check what they want before sending you their way. The company announces capacity in its worldwide developers conference 2025 key note.
This can help prevent the risk of AI voice clone scams, which allow scammers to create AI voice clone with just 3 seconds recorded sound. These calls and message screening features may come many years after Apple’s rivals already implement them, but it is an easy W. for Apple.
There is also a new text message filtering ability that places unknown seeds of messages in a separate folder to review or ignore you. This can help limit the number of people who fall for jobs, tools or other text phishing scams.
I get two, maybe three of these text messages are a week. Placing them on their small island cannot stop the frequency on which they have been sent, but it will certainly provide mental comfort that I will not mistakenly click a scam link or fall for AI phishing scam. In addition, a low -clutter inbox is always good.
Apple’s new features also come in good times. A recent CNET survey says 96 % of Americans receive at least one scam message from email, phone calls or text each week. Although the Apple party may be late, anything that helps you get to you in lower scams is a welcome increase.
