The NASA is shutting down several social media accounts administered by the Science Mission Directorate, including the Official Mars’s curiosity on the X -Raver account. The organization says it decided to “make his work more accessible to the public, and to avoid more fitness or confusion.”
The “Social Media Stability Project” is focused on a section of X, where NASA has dozens of NASA accounts associated with specific missions and research fields. So far, 29 accounts are being reserved or stabilized with other accounts, including @Marsority and @NSPRIVER, both accounts of the organization’s Mars. Posts about both missions will now come from more general @Nasamers. NASA says, some social media accounts will be re -nominated to align with the new strategic framework, reflecting a wider scope or more direct relationship with NASA’s basic steps. “
With “more than 400 individual accounts in 15 platforms”, it is not irrational that NASA is trying to smooth things, but when there is news and information coming from some ordinary account, it has some greatly appreciated. NASA’s curiosity is beloved and the agency’s research on Mars was more famous because the social media account has made it easier to identify with Rover.
Beyond social media accounts, NASA can usually go with very little resources next year. The Trump administration’s proposed 2026 budget includes NASA’s financing about $ 6 billion. Limited resources can cause multiple planned missions to be canceled Washington Post Reports to Venus, including sending investigations, taking mineral samples from Kishorra and studying gravity waves with the European Space Agency.
