- Google is testing the removal of a favorite tab in the phone app.
- Favorite contacts appear as horizontal queues in the upper part of the Reasons tab in a new sequence.
- Its new design is no longer a place in the section of repeated contacts.
Google is examining a significant change in its diller app, and it can mark the end of a familiar tab. At least some of the Pixel 8 Pro Devices running of the Google Phone app, 178.0.7655584175 Public Bitta, Standstone Forte Tab has been removed. Instead, in the upper part of the resin screen, favorite contacts appear in a clean row, just as some other dialer repeatedly connect the shortcut for repeated contacts.
Credit to Telegram User @H_MUC, who first saw this change live on his device. The first screenshot below shows the current UI of the app, while the other two show the new setting. In the latest design, the favorite tab is finished, and the top of the Request tab now appears to be pandas favorite, followed by your recent calls. At the end of the contact row, a new ADD button appears, probably connected to the contact list so you can add more favorite.
Another death of this re -design is the section of continuous contacts, which was previously visible under the favorite in the old tab. That section no longer appears in the new sequence, and it is not clear whether it has been completely removed or easily moved.
This video can better evaluate how you see a potential new sequence:
The new layout is definitely clean, but this may disappoint users who like to have a dedicated place for both liking and frequent contacts. It is unclear how extensively this change is going on, but we will keep an eye on things and tell you if this setting becomes a new default.
