Snap Inc. last September unveiled its fifth -generation AR glasses, known as Specials 5, but were only available for developers who signed up for the $ 99/month developer program. The good news is that Snap’s next AR will not happen with glasses, which will be launched in 2026.

The disclosure came from Snap during the ongoing World Expo (AWE) in Long Beach, California in the United States, where the company also announced that its next AR glasses, which will be available to the public, will be called “sunglasses”.

“We understand that the time is right for the revolution in computing that naturally connects our digital experiences to the physical world, and we can’t wait to launch our new sunglasses next year,“Snap Inc., co -founder and CEO of the Snap Inc., said the House Spiegel.

Spiegel also claimed that the sunglasses, which would be the first commercially available AR glasses of Snap, “is the world’s latest personal computer.”

Although Snap did not discover the details of the species, he said in these AR glasses “look at the lens that enhance the physical world with digital experience.” In addition, the company revealed that it has spent more than $ 3 billion on AR glasses in the last 11 years.

In addition to disclosing the launch timeframe of the sunglasses, SNAP announced updates about OSOS, which includes deep integration with Open AI and Gemini on Google Cloud. In addition, the company launched new tools to build located experiences for developers. This includes a flat management app, guided mode, and guided navigation.

This is not. Snap also announced that the web XR support is coming to the browser soon, and it is in partnership with the Nentic Local to bring his visual positioning system to a lens studio and the world’s AI -powered map.
