Apple organized its worldwide developers conference (WWDC) 2025 on Monday, where it introduced iPados 26 and iOS 26 in other software updates. The new OS updates for iPad and iPhone include numerous features, including the better features of liquid glass design and the better features of Apple Intelligence. However, not all Apple’s existing devices will receive these updates. Two iPhones and one iPad model will not support iOS 26 and iPados 26 versions. Apple’s iOS 26, iPados 26 are compatible with iPhone, iPad model
Apple has confirmed that iPhone XR and iPhone XS models will not get iOS 26 updates. Caprinto -based Tech Dev added that the 7th Generation iPad (2019) version will not support the iPados 26 updates.
Usually an update cut off is determined by the age or its hardware capabilities. The iPhone XR and iPhone XS Handsets, which are launched in 2018, are powered by Apple’s A12 Bionic chip set, while the seventh generation iPad (2019) has A10 fusion chip. Although these devices will not get any more operating system upgrade, Apple is expected to offer security updates for a few years.
