This is the WBBC week, and it means provoking software and service announcements from Apple.
During its key note on Monday, Apple revealed new features to Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad, Max and more, including a new “liquid glass” UI that uses excessive transparency. It would undoubtedly be discriminatory for Apple’s fans and those, but the company also revealed a new numbering scheme for its OS products.
IOS, iPados, Macos, Wachos, and TVOS will not present this year on 19 years. Instead, Apple will now use next year as its discrimination. This means iOS 26 is the latest version, which is coming in iOS 27 and Sandri 2026, etc.
There is a lot about this change and its liquid glass aesthetic. I bet that you are itching to listen to your point of view.
So, here are the questions:
- Does the change in Apple’s name scheme make it easier to identify its OS version, or is it just a marketing practice?
- What are your views about liquid glasses: Windows Vista Dop or real disclosure?
- Does the software change mean nothing if Apple’s chasset holds the old name scheme?
- Should Google adopt a similar name for Android?
- How do you name the iOS and Android version? Code Name, Year, or Fully Something else?
