Huawei unveiled Watch 5 internationally in a dedicated press event in Berlin (recorded here). This year, no pro is different, so Watch 5 is the current flagship of the company. It is compatible with both iOS and Android, and if you want to go out without your phone, there are such models with ESIM support.
Innovation is difficult to wear, where the feature set has already reached maturity and is bringing something new or useful that has not already happened. With Watch 5, you get all the features you expect from a premium dress, but this time, Huawei has doubled on the health monitoring aspect.
Watch 5’s reputation claims better access to health monitoring properties. Instead of digging into menus and apps, you only hold your finger on the sensor for a minute, and the clock will complete your full checkup for the day, which will potentially inform you of any irregularities that require medical help.
We have been using one since the event, and we are ready to share our thoughts how good is in real life.

Design
Our unit is a 46 mm version and comes in purple, which is made of titanium and has a comprehensive strap in a similar color. It certainly looks great and sits well on large wrists.
If you like a small watch, the Watch 5 is also available in the 42 mm version, but be aware that it not only has a small face but also a small battery inside.
46 mm Watch 5 We have only 58 grams to review, so despite its relatively large size, this is not a heavy device. Stainless steel models are slightly heavy.
The titanium body is folded with a sapphire glass, which is just as premium as the material in the smart watch industry. The spherical glass not only looks amazing, but it is also quite invasive to abrasive.
Display
We noted the screen dome design, but this is nothing new – Huawei introduced it in the Watch 4 series, and here it has the same LTPO emulated with 1.5 “Akhtar and 466 x 466PX resolution.
The improvement that the company has brought is shine. Its rating is 3,000 nets, which is the most capable of wearing Huawei (technically announced in the same event, equivalent to Watch Foot 4 Pro).
Huawei has been proud of the clock -run -powered library in the Huawei Health app. These faces are usually divided into three types based on electric performance. Unfortunately, all the designs that look cool with moving items and dynamic images use a lot of power.
At least some faces are designed to tap the animation by tapping the sensor – a cool trick, if nothing else.
X tape
Now when we have mentioned a new sensor, let’s get details about what it does and how it works.
We attended a special meeting at Shenzhen’s Huawei Headquarters, where the product directors provided extensive information about the sensor. The President of the Webbles, Rico Zhang, explained that while the Huawei Turkey system (the censor on the back) is valid, it is not as fast and fast as the company wants.
The X Tape is not a one -click button, at least not in this generation. This is a combination of three sensors: the first finger to detect the pressure, which is 10 to 50 times more accurate than the wrist -based measurement, which is almost exactly like a medical device. The second is a glass -coated ECG (electrical degraum) electrode that transmits the signals more faster than the finger.
The third is a PPG sensor (Photos Pulthsmogram) – an optical sensor that detects blood volume changes, similar to clamps, medical personnel use to measure spo -2 and heart rate on our fingers.
All this is for theoretical part. In practice, pressing the sensor for 60 seconds through the Watch 5 precision feature can provide nine precision readings. First, ECG measures 30 seconds direct contact for ECG measurements, followed by Spo -2, heart rate, stress and much more to get more.
The third phase is to cough at the clock. Records, analyzes, and provides breathing checkpoints.
Three stages of health look
All this health test is already able to wear the old Huawei. The difference is that they all accumulate in a mega app, which also provides a new health metric-HRV or heart rate variation. It is the latest and latest feature, which regularly analyzes the intervals between every heartbeat.
Higher HRV is considered healthy, while HRV can identify potential for stress or health. An important reminder: Huawei Watch 5 is a smart gadget, a stylish accessories, and a source of instant health measurement. However, this is not a medical device.
Software and hardware
Huawei Watch 5 has health insights, which should not be confused with health. This feature is only available in the health app and provides intelligent analysis of sleep, stress and health advice while detecting trends. Working accurately to you you need to wear the clock for an extended period.
The health insights can be found in the health app’s health tab, and yes, Huawei can do a little more work. Technically, anyone with the app’s V15.1 repetitive can find their insights, but the analysis is based on advanced tracking of the troupes, which means only watch 4, watch GT4, and watch -4 Pro detailed analysis can be included in Watch 5.
The health of health
We liked the indicator control over Watch 5, which is new to Huawei. Unlike other companies, we have two indicators that work with limited number of apps – which may not seem enough, but at least it works without interruption.
The index indicates taping the finger against the finger as a fine button, while the index finger swipes the thumb on the sides of the switch methods. Apps that support these gestures are calls, music, alarm and remote shutters (the latter are only available on EMUI -powered Huawei phones).
Indicator control
Everything that is offered in the previous dress is also available in Watch 5. More than 100 sports methods, including detailed information for trail runners and golfers, navigation steps from petals, comprehensive ECG, arterial hardship and other step -by -step navigation.

It also offers extensive support to the third party to wear and can connect the Internet through the Wi-FI 6 (65 Mbps Max). Although all these modern features significantly eliminate the battery, Huawei introduces dual battery mode.
Switching between standard format and ultra -long battery life mode does not take more than 3 seconds, which is a major improvement from the Watch 4 series, which takes about 30 seconds. Activating the second mode disables many features-ESIM support, any X-tape related, step-by-step navigation, and any installed third party app.
Battery life
Huawei often does not reveal the battery capacity of its wearers. We can confirm that our 46 mm unit is 867 mAh, while the 42 mm version is 540 mAh.
The Watch 5 offers wireless charging, which technically works with any Qi Charger, but it is not so straightforward. Clock and strap design often makes it difficult to place on a flat surface to wear.
We tried to charge Watch 5 with an old wireless charger puck, but this device supports 10W fast charging, which is best provided by the CW05 charger included in the retail box. We charged the clock from 0 to 100 % in about 90 minutes, which is in accordance with Huawei advertising.
The use of any other charger can significantly affect the charging time, which can last from 100 to 200 minutes, so we recommend adhesive.
The same charge in the standard mode lasted for about 100 hours, or about four days. Always activating the display, the battery life decreased by three days. When we turned into ultra -saving battery life mode, things became interesting.
Theoretically, we can exceed 10 days, but it will need to disable features such as heart rate, SPO2, stress and sleep tracking. In general use, we received for seven days, though it was without physical activity. Just 90 minutes of exercise increased weekly battery life by five to six days. Using AOD uses our use in four days.
Fortunately, the battery is charged quickly. We recommend that we wear daily or charge for about 30 minutes every two days – maybe during a regular shower. This approach will ensure that the Watch is permanently dynamic without tracking more than 5.
Word
The initial price of 46 mm Huawei Watch 5 is 949 for stainless steel models, while the titanium model (includes our purple unit) is € 549. This is actually cheaper than its predecessor, which is especially impressive to consider new hardware and software.
Huawei usually bundles its wear with other devices and services. The Watch 5 -Free Bids 6I in Germany, with an additional fluorolastomer strap, and an extension with a three -year warranty, all of this without any extra cost.
Consumers in Spain can also get discount on a weight scale (€ 50 instead of € 10), while consumers in Poland can get a free arc on a 33 % discount.
Huawei Watch 5 is a notable tool that should consider both wearing fans, both new and experienced. This impressive battery has a wide range of longevity, applications and features, and extraordinary stability.
In addition, the clock is aesthetically pleasant, comfortable to wear, and offers excellent performance-it includes practically everything that can be desired from a high-end smart watch.
