Are you using iOS 18 on your iPhone since it was released in September? Or maybe you are in a camp to wait a little until a friend or family, or you read the reaction of those who have experienced it.
Well, regardless of what camp you are in, Apple’s iOS 18 – and iPados 18, operating system for iPad – are officially eight months old. Although this is not a year, the company’s 2025 World Wide Developer Conference begins on Monday, June 9 with an opening key note. We are expecting the next generation of iOS and other platforms.
As a result of this event, Apple is sharing the last use numbers of iOS 18 and iPados 18. While the Tech giant does not promise a significant number of updates and equally necessary security updates, iOS 18 iPhone XR/XS, and iPad 7th General, iPad Mini 5th General, iPad Pro works on the first general, iPad Pro.

It has a wide range of supported devices, and for iOS 18, 82 % of all eligible iOS devices are running the latest and largest from Apple. Regarding qualified devices released in the last four years, the installation rate is high: 88 %. Meanwhile, 71 % of all iPados running iPads have been installed, and the installed proportion in the iPads released in the last four years is about 81 81 %.

IOS 18 and iPados 18 were also very updated, as well as for one, it launched the Rolling Launch of Apple Intelligence with iOS 18.1 in October of 2024, but it is incomplete, and very expected AI -powered Siri is still delayed. But how is it compared to the Android phone? As I wrote above, Apple does not guarantee a time frame, but you can see that it is six years behind the iPhones, as the XS was released in 2018. Samsung now guarantees most of its Galaxy phone lineup for a seven -year software upgrade, while Google Pixel Pixel receives five -year -olds of Pixel Pixel 6 and older, and it increases for Pixel 7 and seven years for 7 years. This means that if you get a pixel 9, you can expect refreshments through 2031. Depending on the model, Motorola offers three years of updates, and the OnePlus offers four years.
Although we expect a new version of iOS and iPados in the WBC 2025, the rumor mill has not mentioned Apple that promises a certain number of year -long software and privacy works. This may be, but I think rumors of design like Vision Pro for the rest of the platforms will be focused.
