Reddate will now allow its users to do something that has never been allowed before: Select their public facial profiles by hiding some of their posting and commentary activity from other users.
So far, Reddit has added full comment and posting activity to users to profiles. So when most users are anonymous, others can easily check their post history and see what communities they are active. This feature, which many users consider to be an important part of Reddit’s openness, have helped Reddators on the platform trolling, lying and many other types of bad (or mere shameful) behavior.
However, with updates, Reddit users will be able to “cry” their profile. Additional control will allow people to hide all their public letters and comments from their profile or hide public posts and comments from their profiles in specific subdates. Here is also a “NSFW” toggle, which will hide posts and comments in NSFW subdivisions. No comment or post will be hidden in the setting of the Subardet where it originally appeared, but it will not appear on the user’s profile.
The company has noted that these settings will have some painting for the moderators, which can rely on consumers’ past activity so that they can stop the rulers or decide who is eligible to join their community. “If you post, comment, send moody mail, request to be an approved poster, or request to join a private subdivate, Reddet said in a general questionnaire, said Reddit, if you request this mode team to access your full profile content date for up to 28 days after interaction – regardless of your settings.
Despite these privileges, many reddasters are not happy with the changes that can change some of the basic dynamics of the platform. “It looks like a bad actor will be able to hide his behavior more easily from the average user,” says one of a highly used comment on Reddut’s post. “Unless you are the mood, you will not be able to see that they are posting incorrect information about a dozen different subsists, for example.”
Others have noted that this feature also means that the formation of an ALT or throwing account is less important, as it is easy to hide the posts you do not want to link to your presence on the app. Although it may be an additional facility for some people, it also raises questions about the company’s new accounts. During the company’s recent revenue call, CEO Steve Hofman suggested that Reddett is considering “creating” its “historically legitimate account creation” process. Huffman did not explain it as it, but said that changes would be necessary to fight the platform’s AI -driven “abuse or manipulation”.
