Google Photos is getting a useful update that helps make the search much easier through your photo library. The app can already identify the text in the photos using AI, but now you can find the exact words by placing it in the quotation marks.

This means that if you are looking for a document image, a symbol, or even a handwritten note in which it, with a particular word on it, you can type the word to enter the price and Google Photos will only try to find the pictures where the word appears. For example, in search of “Passport”, only images will come back that clearly show this exact word somewhere in the image.

According to the Google Support Post, the feature is moving slowly and may not be available to everyone. But once it comes to your account, it should make the victim specific images very fast and more correct.

Although it may feel like a small improvement, it has been promised Google last month as part of the 10th anniversary of Google Photo. Along with other memory and AI tools, this update reflects the purpose of Google to help users easily find and manage their memories. We covered these announcements here in Phonelina when they were first jointly jointly.

This change will potentially be the most helpful for people who use Google Photos to store screenshots, scanned documents, receipts, or any other image with text. Earlier, the app can lift ordinary keywords, but search results often contain irrelevant images. With quotation marks, the results are now more specific and focused. Still, it is not perfect. Google says that when this feature can identify the text with confidence in an image, its feature works best. This means that if the word is difficult to read, it is written in a stylized font, or partially confusing, the search may miss it. It will not yet be able to recognize the text in every language with equal accuracy.

Despite these limits, this is a helper. Since AI continues to improve apps like Google Photos, consumers can expect more tools that make large libraries manage less disappointing.

If the update has not yet appeared in your account, don’t worry. Google says it is moving slowly, so it should appear soon. Once this happens, try to type a specific word at prices and see how well it works with your own photos.
