Google has begun to update the design design for Gmail on Android. This is one of the first apps to receive the latest form, but the rollout is yet limited, so most users have not yet received it. It also includes many pixel owners like me, who are still looking forward to the changes in the process. The Material 3 Expressive was formally introduced last month as part of a large visual over hall in Android. The new design language produces you on material with more dynamic colors, smooth dynamic images, and layered UI elements. It is expected that the second Android 16 QPR beta will be rolled out more widely this year, but Google is already updating some of its apps already.
Gmail is one of the first people to get a new look. As seen in Google’s preview and early users reports, changes are noticeable but not tight. The message list now appears on a background like a round card, which makes the inbox more modern. The search bar, the navigation menu button, and the account switcher separates on a more colorful background layer. There is also a new animation when swaping the messages, and the “composing” button is more bold.

So far, only a little more users have received an update. Any phone user posted a video of a new swipe animation on the Reddate, while another user jointly jointly joints on the Resto -Twitter screenshots of the UI, which looks like a one -pulse device. The Android Authority also pointed to a telegram user who shared screenshots of original emails with new design.
This is not the biggest content we will see, but this is the initial step toward Google’s broader design changes. It is expected to follow more apps, such as Google Photos and messages in the coming months.
As we have previously covered, the target of expressing material 3 H3 is to feel Android apps more dynamic and visually permanent. Although the update of Gmail is just starting, it is an indication of where the platform is headed.
For now, the rollout server looks like side and surprising, so there is no clear timeline for when it will arrive on all the devices. If you haven’t received an update yet, you are not alone. The expression of the material 3 H3 may take some time before reaching each. Nevertheless, it is a pleasure to see Google starting this new chapter for Android’s design and I can’t wait to appear in the apps on my pixel.
