The introduction of Generative Pre -trained Transformers (GPTS) identified an important milestone in the adoption and utility of artificial intelligence in the real world.
The technology was developed by the then -new research lab, based on the previous research conducted by Google Labs on Transformers in 2017.
It was Google’s White Paper “You need attention”, which laid the foundation for Open’s work on the GPT concept.

Transformers provided AI scientists an innovative way of taking the user input, and converted it into something that could be used using the focus method to identify important parts of the data through the nerve network.
This architecture also allows the information to take action parallel rather than the traditional nerve networks. It provides a huge and critical improvement in the speed and performance of AI processing.
A short history of GPT
Open’s GPT architecture was released with GPT1 in 2018. Improving Google’s transformer ideas significantly, the GPT model showed that large -scale non -monitoring learning can develop a highly qualified text generation model that operates at a very good pace.
GPT also eliminated understanding of the context of nerve networks, which improved accuracy and provided harmony like humans.
Prior to GPT, AI Language models rely on rule -based systems or easy nerve networks such as nerve networks (RNS), which struggle with long -distance dependence and understanding of context.
The story of the GPT architecture is one of the permanent increase since launch. In 2019, the GPT -2 introduced a model with 1.5 billion parameters, which began providing response to such flow text where AI users are now familiar.
However, it was the introduction of GPT3 (and then 3.5) in 2020, which was the real game changer. It consisted of 175 billion parameters, and suddenly a single AI model can compete with a wide range of applications from creative writing to Code Generation.

GPT technology went viral with the launch of Chat GPT in November 2022. On the basis of GPT 3.5 and later GPT -4, this amazing technology immediately attracted AI to public awareness. Unlike previous GPT models, Chat GPT was fine -tone for the interaction of dialogue.
Sudden business users and ordinary urban customer can use AI for things like customer service, online tuition or technical support. The idea was so powerful that this product attracted 100 million users in just 60 days.
Today GPT is one of the top two AI system architectures in the world (with Google’s Gemini).
Recent improvements include multi -model capabilities, namely not only text but also photos, videos and audio.
The Open AI has also updated the platform to improve the identification of the pattern and enhance non -surveillance learning as well as to add agent’s functionality through semi -autonomous tasks.
On the commercial front, GPT -powered applications have now been deepened in many different businesses and industry businesses.
The Sales Force has Einstein GPT to provide CRM functionality, Microsoft’s co -polythe is an AIsted coding tool that includes office suite automation, and contains several healthcare AI models that provide GPT -driven diagnosis and medical research.
Rivals gather

At the time of writing only two major rivals in the GPT architecture, Google’s Gemini system and its work are being done with its lama models through Deep See, Anthropic’s Claude and Meta.
The latter products also use transformers, but in a very different way for GPT. However, Google is a dark horse in the race, as it is becoming clear that the Gemini platform is capable of dominating the global AI field in a few years.
Despite the competition, Openi AI is the leading leader in the boards in terms of performance and standards. Its growing reasoning models such as O1 and O3, and its excellent image generation product, GPT image -1 that uses technology, shows that architecture has a significant life left, which is awaiting exploitation.
