YouTube is a permanent beast. Among the unmanned UI experiences, the rise of shorts, and the growing advertisement attack, it is more difficult to enjoy this platform as we used to do in the good old days. But even then I finally got Kaf and YouTube premiums – because when you can’t defeat the system, sometimes, you have to join the system – not all hope is lost. There are still many ways in which I can withdraw my YouTube experience, and you can. From browser opportunities, extensions, changes in settings and filters that can bring back a clean, calm, and more customized experience, here you have six YouTube hacks you need to try today:
Hack #1: Kill Shorts
Adamia Sharma / Android Authority
If you are tired of the YouTube YouTube’s most humorous shock to bow down on the shorts, you are not alone. When you are trying to avoid YouTube deep dive, the cutting size material is great, the shorts are occupying a lot of platforms. Open the YouTube homepage, and you will only get three appropriate video tips (one of which is inevitably an advertisement), then the shorts will be an aggressive wall. No thank you!
If you are at Google Chrome, occupy the elimination of YouTube shorts. It is plug and play and easy, and it cleanses shorts not only from your homepage but also from search results. In fact, it completely removes the category of shorts from YouTube’s left panel. Even you can use it on the Kiwi browser for mobile, if it’s your thing.
People who make this extension also have a Android app called Block Scroll, which removes shorts from your YouTube app on Android. But fair warning: The app asks for more permissions than I am comfortable to hand over, so use it carefully if you have to do it.
If you are a firefox user, see the best control panel for YouTube. It not only dealt with shorts but also dealt with other UI sins of YouTube, which brings me to its next point.
Hack #2: Control the number of videos you see in each row
Regular YouTube UI with three videos in a rowUblock UBLOCK original filter and 5 videos in each array
Only for the reasons known to YouTube, the homepage now shows only three videos in each row on the size of any screen. On a 13 -inch laptop, it is lightly disturbing. On 27 inch monitor? This is grossly funny. The good news is that you can change it too.
If you are using Firefox or Brave (which still supports Ublock with the Manifesto V2), open the Ublock original settings and paste this line into the “My Filters” section:
www.youtube.com
Note that this hack will not work on Ublock Chrome in Google Chrome because it no longer supports the inclusion of custom filters. That said, on other browsers, the trick acts like magic, and you can turn the number into anything to five to the number you want to see on YouTube depends on the number.
If you do not want to mess up with Ublock Filters to do this, you can also use the aforementioned control panel for YouTube rope fixer extension or YouTube extension on Firefox in Chrome to solve your video per problem. Some of these extensions also provide you with additional controls, such as hiding sponsored and direct videos, customizing the thumbnail size, and droping ads automatically, so make sure to look at these additional features.
Hack #3: Turn back to the old YouTube
Adamia Sharma / Android Authority
If you are fed up with the utility of YouTube and endless shorts, you can also check the extension of YouTube Redox to take things back to what it is. Chrome extension brings back the classic, retro YouTube layout that you know and love, none of the old school video player size, easy homepage grid, and extra flip. In addition to the familiar interface, you will also be saved from auto -playing channel trailers and distracting sidebers. So if you are missing out on the way you feel YouTube, Radix will only allow you to claim this experience in just a few clicks. If you can make it more customized, then the best part.
Hack #4: Disable the picture in the picture
Exiting the YouTube app means that you will only find a swimming player who follows your phone around your phone as the former of the tampering. This is a photo of YouTube at work, and when it is useful, it may be disturbing if you want to stop the video when you leave the app.
Thankfully, you do not need help from a third party tools to disable the image in the photo in the photo of YouTube. To disable it, justice
- Tap your profile avatar in the YouTube app
- Settings> Go to Playback
- Toggle the picture in the picture
If you have a device that supports automatic pipes throughout the system like iPhones, you will have to disable this layout, even to get rid of the image in the image in the YouTube image.
Hack #5: Remove podcast, music, mix, and more from YouTube UI
I stumbled on the Reddate with many useful Ublock’s original filters, which I used to maximize my YouTube UI. These filters need to be applied with the same procedure I have described in Hack #2. They will help remove you from podcast playlists to music playlists, mix, live streams and more.
- Removes podcast playlists from home:
YouTube.com
YouTube.com
YouTube.com
www.youtube.com ##: is (ytd-rch-sonder, ytd-grid-video-render, ytd-compact-video-deder) :.
You can customize your YouTube UI by choosing (or all) of these filters (or all) and paste them into a U -Block Origin or choosing more of this very useful filter list, which the Reddater has shared.
Hack #6: Take a break
Falling from a YouTube rabbit hole is sometimes inevitable. I am sure that there are days you have found for hours. But YouTube gives you an easy way to get out of this bad habit. You can control your banning eyes on the YouTube mobile app, you can fix the brake reminders appearing at the selected time intervals and stop the video, and remind you how many days you are watching. To fix the interval reminders:
- Tap your profile picture
- Tap on settings
- Tap General
- Next to remind me of the break, tap the switch to bend the reminders
- Set your reminder frequency and tap OK.
You can also be reminded of bedtime Profile picture> Settings> Normal> Remind me at bedtime And choose a start and closing time.
