Coros Hart Rate Monitor: One minute Review
The Coros Heart Rate Monitor is a strap -based monitor designed for your upper arm, which uses optical tracking tech to measure blood volume rather than electroncaragraph or ECG, which measures electrical gestures of the heart. Although many heart rate monitors use ECG, optical sensors are found in the best smart watch. Which question raises: Why does Koros’s stand alone use optical sensors instead of HRM ECG?
The short response from Koros is that the optical heart rate monitoring your blood flow works using light through your skin. Although the watches can do reasonable work on the wrist, the arm has high blood in the blood, which makes a dedicated strap – which can be firmly relaxed at the high position of the arm – more accurate.
Therefore, your money you are getting more accurate optical heart rate monitor than the smart watch, yet it has a more comfortable location. Unlike chest strap, it is a comfortable garment for both men and women of all types of body, and you get 38 hours of decent use with its rechargeable battery.
Thanks to Bluetooth contact, it can be used with many different devices, ranging from smart watches and phones to bikes and gym machines. Here is also a feature of a useful clothing detection feature, which means that it can make auto power on and connect. That’s all you need to do.
Here is the basic water proof, up to 3 ATMs, but it is even more to make sweat and rain-so don’t expect it to be useful for swimming. You will not even find contact options like ANT+ here, so that it can restrict some people in which devices can be used with it.

Coros Hart Rate Monitor: Design
- Comfortable to wear
- Easy to fit
- Easy design
Corros Heart Rate Monitor is about simplicity and thus it is a doodle to wear. Since it is designed to go to your Besp, once you adjust you to the right size using Velcro Fitting, it is a simple matter of slipping your arm.
The strap material is a combination of polyester fiber, nylon and spandex, which are all a very comfortable feeling. But, the important thing is, it is so flexible that it slips with a stretch, but living in its place is so tight that without feeling severe or discomfort.
The total weight on 19 grams is barely noticeable. When you consider people running with a big phone in the arms of straps and barely giving them notice, you can imagine how uncomfortable it feels.
Does it feel more comfortable than chest straps? In my case, the answer was yes, but it may be different from another person. I am certainly realistic that it is easily slippery, and thanks to this auto dress detection sensor it will be connected quickly and easily.
It is designed to fit the size bosses between 18 and 32 cm. So unless you are very thin or bodybuilder, it is likely that it will fit you comfortably, regardless of gender. If you are large in the arm area, then there is the option to go for a large type of strap at the shopping site, which adjusts 24-43 cm byis.

The sensor setup includes five LEDs with four photographs itself. In this combination, now representing the best optical heart rate sensor from Coros right now, it should mean that this is a substantial evidence of the future, it is unlikely to take the eclipse for a short time through more accurate technology. That said, this SPO2 will not offer measurements, so if you are after O2 features, you want to see somewhere else.
The side of the central unit is a LED light that acts as a useful light of communication. When the orange will shine on the charge until the battery is full after two hours, and then it becomes solid green, so you will know that it is good to go.
The charger is connected to the end of the USB-A and HRM connection at one end. Although it is easy to plug in many different sources of electricity, we prefer more efficient, the latest USB-C.
The strap can also wash, where the central unit can be slide, which makes it possible to keep it fresh for a long time.

Coros Hart Rate Monitor: Features
- The app is minimal
- The third party’s many compatibility compatibility
- No swimming is aware of
The Coros Heart Rate Monitor can be paired in many devices and work with the app you want to use. But there is an added Corroses app that you can use, ideal if you have already found other Corros devices like Coros Peace Pro.
Corros app is fine to analyze the data, but it won’t track you when you are exercising. So you will need to use the third party app like Strava. I opened the Coros app to the HRM, and once it was connected, I could only open the strava, slip to the Armband, and it directly pulls HR data.
It was helpful for me to train heart rate or zone. Generally, I used the phone to collect data and then just looked at it when I analyze my effort after returning and raining, so you would need to take your phone in a chest, waist or arm -powered matter.

It is also noteworthy that if you already have a smart watch and want to add a more accurate tracker than the heart rate than the built -in optical option, it can also connect with your Smart Watch. And yes, it proved to be far more accurate than the wrist -based options during our test, so it could be a viable alternative to chest strap.
The app is the only way to know the correct step of HRM battery life. Certainly this side light can guide you to some extent, but it is unlikely that you can be served before the run or ride where you will be assured that you have enough juice to travel. Whenever it is connected, a push notification would be helpful.
It is worth noting that it can broadcast heart rate to three devices simultaneously. So you can connect your watch and phone to your motorcycle computer at the same time, for example. I haven’t tested this feature yet, but it is good to have the option when needed.

Coros Hart Rate Monitor: Performance
- Good accuracy
- Easy in use
- Very comfortable
The most important thing to mention here is comfort. It is more comfortable to wear more than the chest strap, while offering almost the same surface accuracy. It is easy to slip on, less noticeable to wear and can also be hidden to avoid knocking.
Although the heart rate monitors wearing a wrist in the clock may be useful, it is so accurate to wearing it on your bias. As mentioned, it is a better reading, with more blood, a better place. But while riding a motorcycle, the arm is even higher with the movement. Whichever is comfortable to offer a large level accuracy in sports.
Where it falls down compared to chest strap is battery life. It is decent, which claims to be the real world for about 38 hours, but still does not compare some chest straps to a battery power.

In a run (picture above), I use the initial mountain climbing to defeat any opportunity to explain the accuracy, I have found some problems. I had a tip -off in addition to my phone -based arm -based Koros HRM. Upon climbing the hill, my heart quickly jumped at 170 and the chest strap remained intact. However, Koros’ strap left behind reading 155. He caught, but was a few seconds.
After that, as the distance was long and it came to the average game, it came closer, but I was familiar with this early Bulip.
So when you can see the initial contradictions, usually both the Koros and the HRM -based HRM show similar reading with a close and average heart rate data. It was certainly significantly more accurate that the wrist is able to offer optical heart rate sensors.

How I experienced
I used Coros HRM for a few weeks to test. I did this work primarily to run and cycling and get longer stable tours as well as hills and springs to get different results. Found. I also compared the Garman, chest strap and, on one occasion, to the Optical Armband. I used it with some different apps so that it could test how the data could be used, joint and analyzed.
