The Uttarakhand government has broken fake websites in the helicopter ticket booking scams. Cyber Criminals are targeting people during Kedarnath Yatra, which is a visit to Kedar Nath’s temple, which is part of the Chota Four Yatra. According to a report, fraudsters have made fake ticket booking websites and they are promoting them through social media pages. Uttarakhand police have also asked citizens to be vigilant, and so far several social media pages associated with this online scam have been blocked.
Kedar Nath Yatra helicopter ticket booking increased
According to a recent report, Uttarakhand Police Special Task Force (STF) has shut down 51 URL or website, 56 bank accounts, and 30 WhatsApp numbers associated with helicopter booking scams. Meanwhile, 111 phone numbers, which are connected to cyber fraud, have been allegedly blocked.
Fraudulent helicopters are trying to attract pilgrims with fake tickets for service. These tickets promise to ride from sites that are currently not supported, and to attract people at low cost to pay cybercriminals. Schemers are said to be using social media pages and websites for this purpose.
Uttarakhand police published a video on YouTube earlier this month, warning passengers to be cautious when making online booking on helicopter tickets. The video also states that the police have blocked 37 social media pages that were found to be associated with the scam, while the report shows that more pages have been blocked.
Meanwhile, pilgrims have been urged to refrain from those who approach those who approach those who claim to be helicopter services agent or representative. They have also been asked to report to Uttarakhand STF to Uttarakhand STF by calling or calling CCPS.Deh@utarakhandpolice.uk.gov.in on 1930 or reporting fake websites or social media pages.
Further, the government suggests that when devoted helicopters go to any website for ticket booking, they should first confirm their authenticity. It should be noted that all helicopter booking for Kedar Nath has been hosted by the IRCTC.
