X users cannot send encrypted messages on the platform. The company has said in a refreshing that it stops the “feature” while we work for some improvement. “Consumers will still be able to see the Sentant encrypted chats, but will not be able to send any new.
So far, the encrypted DMs are only available on messages between certified users who are mutual or who have already accepted the DMS from each other. The screenshots of the X -Help Center feature labeled it as “initial access”. (In particular, there were several other important warnings for X encryption, even when it was working, including the fact that encryption was never available for group chats, multimedia messages or metadata.)
It is unclear when this feature will be available again or if the “pause” has nothing to do with “Xchat”, the company is still launched a chat platform. X employees are leaving indicators about Xchat, which will be offered directly for some time direct messages. Lakers’ screenshots suggest that Xchat can contain additional protective features such as pin -protected chats.
Officially, though, Xchat has not disclosed much about Xchat or what is happening to the current version of the encrypted DMS. X’s app inbox was one of the features that had faced numerous problems after a site wide closure last week-possibly due to the company’s fire in the company’s Oregon facility-due to the day of technical problems for this service. Updates on the company’s developer platform page show that some of these problems have not yet been solved.
X did not respond to a comment.
