In Derbs and Dibbs, we are starting to see a better idea of looks like Tesla’s robotics service in just a few weeks when launching in the city of Austin. But it is not enough because of what is at stake.

The company is considering a possible date for launching its robotics service in Austin on June 12, Bloomberg Reports – Although this date may change. Tesla has not yet publicly announced any date, nor has it made it clear who will be able to access the vehicles.

The news came when CEO Elon Musk said the company had begun testing vehicles without security drivers.

“For the past several days, Tesla has been examining the self -powered model Wi -cars (no one in the driver’s seat) on the Austin Public Strites, which has no incidents,” Musk said on X.

But before you give the Musk a lot of milestones, keep in mind that we still do not know how to work for this service. Tesla has never publicly disclosed that its vehicles can completely drivers on public roads, without a human safety driver behind the wheel. We have operated them in the limits of Tesla’s factory, an environment that is under the company controlled and is not complicated like an active street in the city with pedestrians, cyclists and other weak road users.

Don’t expect to see the vehicle at any time in Austin. Photo: Tesla

We know that Tesla plans to start serving with 10-20 models. Are these vehicles different from the meaningful model YS that Tesla sells to its customers? It seems that Ashok Elviswamy, Auto Pilot and AI software, has said in a recent revenue call that they will have “audio input” so that they can pick sirens from emergency vehicles, for example.

These vehicles will also be heavy telecommunication, meaning that there will be remote operators who are looking at vehicles through their embedded cameras, if a problem is ready to be overcome. But keep in mind that this came from a research note published by Morgan Stanley’s analyst Adam Jonas, not from Tesla. Jonas also said that the service would be invited only during the launch. So unless you invest in Tesla, a social media, or a close friend of Elon Musk, do not affect a social media, do not plan to travel to Austin next month.

Tesla’s approach to her self -driving service is a major leave that robotoxic companies usually handle such launches. Vemo, to which it should note, operates only publicly publicly available in the United States, examining its driver -equipped vehicles for weeks, sometimes months before opening in front of members of the public. And still, the company only allows specific people, usually from a weightlist, to ride in its vehicles.

From the point of view of Tesla’s self -driving service, robotoxic companies usually have a great departure from how these types of launches are usually handled.

But before that, Vemo spends months manually driving around a city, collects data about street cap and other drivers driving habits. Sometimes it uses this information to start a commercial robotics service. Other times when the data is fed only in the Vimo’s central computer to make a general improvement in its automatic driving software.

Vemo is also relatively transparent about its process. Before it launched a robotics service in Phoenix, Arizona, the company invited journalists to facilitate dozens of shops in California, California, to allow them to ride on a closed course. Vemo has also released his safety case, posted several blog posts about his approach to safety, and posted a handful of peer reviewing studies, which shows how his technology behaves as usual than human drivers.

On the other hand, Tesla has said very little about the safety of her vehicles beyond her chief executive’s hype -filled statements. Even the federal government, which was recently a semi -member as part of the Dodge, has many questions about the launch. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which operates under the US Department of Transportation, recently sent a barrier of questions to the company, including the number of vehicles, their ability to operate in poor weather conditions, and on which Tesla’s timetable owners will be accessed.

One of the long -standing concerns for the NHTSA is that Tesla is setting its robotics service on its full self -driving (FSD) driver assistance. Tesla’s first -generation driver’s Assist System, Auto Pilot, has been associated with hundreds of non -fatal events and 51 casualties until October 2024. At least two of them are associated with the FSD. The NHTSA has been investigating these cracks for many years.

Self-driving technology has been built on many things-camera, software, AI, engineering, possibility-but the success of any public robotics service will eventually come to confidence. Do people trust the company to develop this technology to a great extent to enter any vehicle with no one on the front seat? Several public voting elections have increased the fall support for independent vehicles over the past years and enmity with this technology.

In the upper part of it, Tesla’s own brand issues are focused. The company is clearly struggling under a gambling gambling and its hard turns are on the right. His online move, supporting his right -right political parties, and his fascist gestures at Trump rallies have made the Tesla brand poisonous. A recent survey that estimates the reputation of top companies, ranked 95th below the 8th high -ranking brand four years ago.

Tesla will always have its own fans – many of them fill my inbox with personal insult to the company’s future success, as well as the courage to question Musk’s leadership – but will take more than a few response boys in making a successful robotics business. Especially the one we know very little about.
