Original article: May 28, 2025 (11:25 AM): When the retro gaming handhelds are talked about, Iano is the most shopkeeper, and eventually it has revealed more details about its upcoming flagship GBS2 model in a current session today. We already knew the chip set from the Qualcomm event in March, but now this device is closer to you to reach your finger.
Pocket S2 will be one of the first handhelds that will feature Snapdragon G3 General 3, the most powerful in the new handheld -based chip sets of Qualcomm. So far, only the cheapest Snapdragon G1 is commercially available on the G -1 General 2 Retrode Pocket Classic, but we are very impressed with what it can handle in the tough budget. If the G3 General 3 shows similar improvements, it may be one of the most powerful Android handhelds to be launched so far.
Iwan also announced that he was working closely with drivers and game support. The new chip set will have the same level of game compatibility, as Snapdragon 8 is General 3. It was a problem of the previous G3 General 2 chip set, though in recent months the compatibility has improved. This will also help drivers out of the box, which should improve performance in high -end use cases such as switches and windows emulators.
It all has a large battery of 8,00mah. It is a huge jump from a 6,000 mAh battery at its predecessor, and should provide a solid life of the battery, even on the highest 20W TDP sequence. Despite the size of the cell, it maintains a thin 15.9 mm thickness.
The screen is a bright 6.3 -inch 1440p IPS panel that ends the border lace on the all -glass front. The rest of the body is the premium CNCD metal, with a flat on the back and a new air intake vent. Iano claims that the new model has dramatically improved cooling performance, which should also help extend battery life. A headphone of 3.5 mm jacks the USB-C charging port, a happy return from the bottom of the device.
In terms of control, the new medium -sized TMR has electromagnetic sticks in Pocket S2. The TMR uses similar magnetic technology like sticks sticks, but they have better precision, resolution and battery performance at higher price price. They are considered to be the next generation of sticks, though they have only been for a few years.
Pocket S2 may be the most powerful Android gaming handheld that is still released so far.
Iwan also briefly showed his upcoming bullet, gaming pad. It will present the same Snapdragon G3 general 3 chip set and 8.3 inch 1440p 120Hz LCD display, but no further details will be revealed yet.
The company closed less than disclosing prices for Pocket S2, but you would not have to wait longer unless it is likely to launch in mid -June, possibly through a crowded funding campaign. Extra and accessories should be sufficient in addition to the early waiver of birds.
A particularly interesting accessories shown in the demo are a new grip, which adds aerganomic handles to the back of the device. The protection of the sticks while traveling can also be removed and placed on the front of the device.
