Google has confirmed that Instagram app is extracting the battery on Android phones, which many users, including many on the reddate, have recently seen.
According to several Android users, Instagram is eating significantly more battery on its devices than other apps that are similar. For example, a redidator with the Samsung Galaxy A53 reports that Instagram used 12.4 % of its battery during the 54 minutes of screen on time, while the WhatsApp, which is compared to 49 minutes of screen on -time, is only used 2.4 %.
Some users who tried to install the old version of Instagram in hopes of avoiding battery drain are heating up their phones instead. Others turned to Instagram Light and saw significant improvement in battery life, which further suggested that the issue is in the central app.
In response, Google has issued a consulting title “Battery drain on Android devices,” Emphasizing users to update Instagram.
The company said, “From today, Instagram is developing a latest app that should solve the battery drain problem on Android devices. Please make sure you have the latest version of the Instagram app (382.0.0.49.84) to solve this problem.”
After refreshing, users are now reporting that the battery drain problem has been solved.
