According to a report by the market research firm IDC, in 2025, the period of January (Q -1) was observed by an eight percent increase in PC delivery to India. HP enjoyed the lion’s share in domestic PC delivery with 29.1 % market share during the aforementioned period. Lenovo and Dell won the second and third places with Acer and Asos, respectively, with fourth and fifth positions respectively. The notebook and work station category witnessed the development, while the desktop category was reduced in Q1.
India PC Delivery rose in Q1 2025
According to the IDC’s latest quarterly personal computing device tracker report worldwide, Q1 2025 has increased by 8.1 percent in the PC market in India. The total shipment of desktops and notebooks, including work stations, touched 3.3 million units in the aforementioned period. The IDC says the growth was achieved with the help of businesses and SMBs. This is a mark of the seventh quarter development for the domestic PC market.
Notebook delivery increased by 13.8 % YOY, while work stations increased by 30.4 % YOY. The report states that the desktop category has decreased by 2.4 % YOY, while the premium notebook delivery has increased by 8 % YOY. The AI notebook shipment has a solid 185.1 perlect YOY growth.
Top Five PC brand
HP, Lenovo, Dell, Eser, And asus According to the IDC report, the PC reserved a total of five positions in the market. HP led the market with 29.1 % shares, while topped in both consumers and commercials. In the commercial segment, HP contributed to 32.7 % through strong demand from businesses, which saw 60.6 % of YOY growth.
Lenovo secured second position with 18.9 % market share. The company added 36.4 percent and 33.8 percent, respectively, both consumers and commercials.
Dell came in third with a market share of 15.6 % and the commercial segment was second in 22 % shares.
Acer came in fourth with a market share of 15.4 %. This brand registered 7.6 % YOY growth in the first quarter, driven by a strong E -Taylor Push and increased offline presence. The company growth 95.5 % YOY in the consumer class, but observed 21.1 % YOY reduction in the commercial segment.
ASUS won the fifth position with 6 % market share and YOY growth 8.6 %. The company saw 41.1 % YOY growth in the commercial segment.
According to the IDC, the consumer class increased by 8.9 % during this period, supporting the Republic of the Republic of the Republic and a heavy shipment in March. The e -tail channel saw 21.9 % YOY growth, while the commercial segment increased by 7.5 %. However, the commercial desktop category has decreased 2.5 %.
IDC Associate Vice President, Device Research, Nakhndra Singh said that enterprise orders are increasing trade sales, but the Indian IT/ITES department is cautious, which is focusing on current IT assets. He said that the demand for strong gaming notebook is pushing the growth of the consumer class.
“With AI -powered capabilities are mandatory for business operations, organizations have begun adopting AIPS to enhance productivity, security and automation, which is expected to further develop in the coming constituencies,” he added.
