    • Google has confirmed that direct updates of Android 16 are going to wear OS.
    • This feature will be offered to wear OS wearing in 2026.
    • Google can directly connect the updates with OS tiles or introduce a completely new system to supply them.

Direct updates is one of the most commonly discussed features in Android 16. Finally, Android users will be able to detect real -time progress on delivery, ride share and navigation apps on their home screens. This is a feature in which iPhone users have just enjoyed for a while, but the implementation of Android seems better than what we’ve seen. Yesterday, we told you that direct updates to Android would not be limited to pixel phones and that more supporting Android handets are coming in. Well, as it reveals, the feature is crossing the form factors and heads your wrists.

In a developer, a developer posted hours ago, Google confirmed that direct updates will come to wear OS Smart Watch in 2026. The company also said that this feature would be reached on regular phones besides foldable devices.

When it comes to direct refreshments about the wearers, it seems that Google is following Apple’s footsteps as Apple Watch also supports direct activities on the watch. As someone who uses the Apple Watch, I can tell you that this shiny is one of the best things that happened with Apple’s Smart Watch in a while. Usually wearing a pixel clock and OS watches will greatly improve the user’s experience.

Unfortunately, Google did not give us a glimpse on which direct updates look at the OS, but we guess that this feature will wear OS 6.x or wear OS 7 because it is ready to release 2026.

On the Apple Watch, direct activities for real -time app tasks appear in the smart stack, which is a home -screen carosal that shows information from background apps. The wearer OS does not have Apple’s smart stack directly, but it contains tiles, which show clear information from apps. Live updates can be integrated into these tiles on OS Smart Watchs. As an alternative, Google can introduce a completely new system for the surface of the latest updates on the wearers. We have to wait and see.
