Refuse: Apple today has sent us an email to clarify some of the warning that some of the iPhone users in the European Union have seen in the App Store. This page, which has been found in the list of apps, says, “” This app does not support the app store’s private and safe payment system. It uses external purchases. “Apple says the user -disclosed screen is not new, and from March 2024, Apple has begun its plan to comply with the Digital Markets Act (DMA).

Apple also noted that in August 2024, it announced changes to its DMA compliance plan, which included changes in the user’s disclosure screen. Apple says it is ready to make these changes and the EC has no objection to the latest user’s disclosure screen, though it has “insisted” that Apple does not implement changes at this time. Apple says the EC never gave them further guidance and then fined Apple for non -compliance.

The original story is as follows …

In the European Union, Apple is being forced to allow developers to send App Store users to a third -party payment platform so that they can pay paid apps and app purchases. This allows the developer to ignore Apple’s app purchase payment platform, which receives 15 % -30 % of the commission from them. Considering that Apple’s Services Unit, which includes App Store’s income, is hit by about $ 100 billion during the financial 2024, Tech Dev is not letting this happen without fighting.

The European Union’s Digital Markets Act, the legislation that forced Apple to show developers to show alternative payment platforms, has proved to be a strong opponent for the Tech Dev. As a result, Apple has decided to shake App Store users by frightening its life. A developer named Victor Mark tweeted a screenshot of the App Store list for a famous business app in Hungary called Instacker. In the upper part of the listing, there was a box of Apple that had a warning. The use of orange triangle with a wonderful sign in the middle indicates that Apple considers it an important warning, the warning says. It is believed that this triangle is used only in very serious conditions when a particular action can lead to a serious result such as data loss.

It seems that Apple’s warning is being used to protect its financial welfare. Using this kind of frightening tactic, Apple can be a violation of DMA, which does not allow the use of so -called frightened screens. Apple’s goal is to frighten the App Store users to use a third -party payment platform and instead use the Apple’s app purchase platform so that they can collect the so -called Apple tax from the developers.

If you read the warning, Apple is trying to convince users that other payment platforms are not “private and safe”. Apple is raising the element of fear here as there are some well -known payment platforms such as PayPal, Square, and Strip that are safe. The problem is that you don’t know if the platform uses an app to pay.

Although Apple should make his message less scary, and may be forced to thank the DMA, the fact is that the developers should also disclose which third -party payment platform they use in advance. The European Union is in favor of transparency and rightly. But developers should not be allowed to be less transparent than Apple, irrespective of that Apple’s use of its frightened screen supports.
