TD is currently reading a new generation of batteries for electric smartphones through AI works when Major Client Apple Inc. is also preparing to launch a thin handset.
Chief Executive Officer Noboro Seto said that the components based in Tokyo will start sending their third repetition of silicon-lying batteries by the end of June. He said it is ahead of the TDK’s original schedule for shipment in the September quarter and can give smartphone makers a lot of time to use these cells in thin models that are launched this year.
“We have made good progress, and we are sending them very quickly,” he said in an interview. “Some handset makers will probably be able to use a new battery in their product early in the early of a generation.”
TD’s battery technology is helping the world’s largest smartphone makers reduce their gadgets without reducing battery run hours. Its latest lithium -ion batteries use silicon for anodes instead of the graphite commonly used, and can pack 15 % more energy in the same location than traditional rechargeable battery packs.
The Samsung Electronics Company launched the 5.9 mm thin Galaxy S25 Edge this week, which is thin 30 % from the company’s high -end S25 ultra, while also promises a camera with new amendment features and other AI capabilities.
Apple is also ready to launch a Selmer Handset-iPhone 17 Air-Air-Air-A new industrial design that can lead to thin models of the Capartino-based company in the future.
According to Bloomberg’s data compiled, Apple and Samsung are the largest fall in TDK, each contributes to 10 % of the total income of the Japanese company. Seto refused to disclose new battery prices or its customers, but said TDK offered all consumers to a component that recognizes the value of technology.
Silicin-inspiring battery technology can be applied to a range of cell cell size used in different products, from gadgets to electric vehicles. TDK battery subsidiary is an important manufacturer of small silicon batteries used in smartphones and is a “huge part”.
“We plan to introduce fourth -generation silicon batteries in the next financial year to expand our superiority,” he said. “Large -scale silicon batteries need to know specially. It’s not like you can just work together.”
TDK expects global smartphone production to increase to 12 billion units this year, though it has been warned that US trade policies can eventually eliminate this growth. Last month, the company presented its annual approach as a limit for the first time, citing the uncertainty around our rates.
Sutto said companies need to react to the progress made out of their control and be dynamic and flexible in response to customer requests.
For TD, this means diversifying production locations. Empires primarily deposited batteries in China, but it is setting up a new factory in India that will be online by September. In India’s facility, the initial production capacity is not large, but it is not difficult to produce silicon batteries on graphite battery manufacture lines, Sutto revealed that TDK plans to build there.
More manufacturers are building manufacturing capabilities outside China, India and Nintendo Company are capable of expanding Apple in Vietnam and Cambodia. Seto said how the TD’s production allocates between China and India will seize consumer requests.
