Global warming and climate change have been a longer a cause for great concern. One of the key indicators of this trend is to melt ice in polar regions. Researchers at Shanghai’s Tongji University have been using NASA satellite data to track the changes to Antarctica’s ice sheet for more than two decades. His latest study states that despite the rise in global temperatures, Antarctica has received snow in recent years. However, it cannot be considered miraculously reversed in global warming because during these two decades, the overall trend is a significant loss of ice. Most of the benefits are due to abnormal rains on Antarctica.

    About a new study

According to new research, NASA’s gravity recovery and climate experience (Grace) and Grace Follow -on -Satellite have been monitoring this ice sheet since 2002. The ice sheet covering Antarctica is the largest ice mass on the ground.

Satellite data revealed that the sheet suffered a permanent period of snow loss between 2002 and 2020. At the end of this period, snow loss increased, which increased by an average loss of about 81 81 billion tonnes (74 billion metric tons) each year between 2002 and 2010, which reached the loss of about 157 billion tonnes (142 billion metric tons) between 2011 and 2020. However, then the trend moved.

The ice sheet increased by an average rate of about 119 billion tonnes (108 metric tons) per year from 2021 to 2023. Four glaciers in East Antarctica also benefit significantly from high snow loss.

    Normal trend in global warming

Climate change does not mean that the earth will be heated at the same rate everywhere, so the same region will never tell the whole story of our heat.

Historically, most of the temperatures of Antarctica have been relatively stable, especially compared to the Arctic. Antarctica’s seafood has also been far more stable than the Arctic, but it has changed in recent years.
