On April 10, 2025, Roger announced a new and completely free game streaming app called PC Remote Play. The app similarly acts like a popular steam link app: You can stream the gameplay on a secondary device, usually smartphone from your computer. You can do the same on the same network like your PC or even with various networks around the world, assuming that the Internet is quite fast. In other words, you can play a PC game you have on your smartphone anywhere in the world.
Of course, Steam Link is already incredibly popular and longer available with other options, I immediately. It was surprising that Roger PC can offer a remote play that other services do not. Well, not only the razor PC remote itself plays a terrific app, but there is also a aspect of it that separates it from the competition.
Roger PC Remote Play is very easy

First of all, you should know that Roger did not make a PC remote play from the beginning. Instead, it is based on the pre -existing moonlight app. If you are not familiar, Chandni (and his fellow app Sunshine) is an open source game streaming client that works in multiple platforms. Basically, Roger has taken the core of the moonlight, making it easier to use it a bit tweet it, and then eliminated it with Roger style.
The razor had started making this app because it was based on the open source moonlight app.
I welcome it with open weapons because, as much as I love moonlight, it’s a pain in ordering. It is also ugly, in particular, with the Android app, it looks like it was designed 10 years ago (it was mainly). As far as I am concerned, the razer is bouncing to solve both of these issues.
Keeping this in mind, the razor PC is very easy to set up a remote play, especially if you are familiar with the moonlight. First of all, you install PC Remote Play App on your Android phone (or the Android tablet, iPhone, iPad, or any device currently supports the razor). After that, you install the razor cortex app on your Windows PC/laptop. You dismiss both apps and connect them together using the mobile app provided. Once the two systems are attached, you can start playing any game installing on your computer.
Thankfully, Roger smooth the set of this app, which makes it more user friendly than the moonlight.
However, it should be noted that Roger will put you pressure to install other apps when you do this – apps that are not necessary to work for PC remote play. It is timid, but people familiar with Roger will know that it is just equal to the course. Newbies just need to know that, no matter what you see during your two installations, you need only two apps for it: cortex on your Windows machine and then PC remote play app on your phone. It is safe to leave any install requests.
Once you get attached to your system, it’s time to start the game!
The use of PC remote play is a wind

You will need physical input, such as a gaming controller for the best experience of PC remote play. Unlike Steam Link, PC remote play does not currently support on -screen controls. The Android app most supports the game pads, though, and everything “should only work”. I linked to my Sony Double Sense (in Amazon. 69.99) and Bluetooth with my Gamer Trantola Pro (in Amazon. 69.99), and both did a great job. You can also use wired controllers to reduce the delay. In fact, Roger has some mobile gaming controllers that you would love to sell for this purpose, such as really good (but really expensive) Roger Kashy Ultra (9 149.99 in Amazon).
Like the moonlight, you have full access to your entire PC when you stream. If you wanted, you can leave the controller and instead connect the keyboard and mouse, and then use the razor PC remote play as a remote desktop app. Obviously, it is designed to be friendly for gaming, but it is really your desktop filming, so you can do whatever you can at this time.
On -screen controls are missing on the PC remote play, which is a boomer, but did a bad thing to use a physical game pad.
My testing, I played some steam games (lamb and horizontal haraam clutter) using the Samsung Galaxy S25 ultra, and everything did a flawless thing. The delay was low, the speed was high, and the resolution was crisp. Blessed, my home Wi -Fi network is really fast, and my desktop PC has a Nvidia RTX 4090, so my experience can be mostly better.
I also tried to play some emulators. Both Dolphin and Simo worked without interruption. I needed to jump on my computer to create a controller support within every emulator, but once I did it, I was playing the game Cube and Wii U without any care.
Whatever I tried, I just need to compromise without anything.
An area of improvement can work a razor, however, is able to access the app settings without removing my stream. For example, through the steam link app, you can put four fingers on the display anywhere, and a menu will pop up that facilitates you to remove the stream, adjust the control and do much more. Roger should adopt something like this, because whenever I wanted to reconcile something, it was difficult to cut my stream.
There is one thing that can even learn from Roger from Roger here, even a steam link.
Razer PC Remote Play Reason is better than Steam Link

The thing that really separates the razor PC remote from the steam link (and even moonlight) is that when you set it on Windows, it makes its virtual “monitor”. It looks like a trivial thing, but it makes a lot of difference, especially if the proportion of the monitor associated with your computer is unusual.
For example, if you have an ultra -wide monitor connected to your computer, out of the box, the steam link will make this aspect ratio on your phone. This is not ideal, because what you are seeing on your phone will be smaller, which will be under your game and a huge black bars. There are ways to resolve both steam link and moonlight, but they need to do extra work. The razor PC remote play, though, fixes it for you during the initial setup.

During the setup, you will see the screenshot above. This allows your computer to make a new monitor, especially for streaming with PC remote play. When you activate the PC remote play, your PC will switch to this virtual monitor and stream the gameplay on your phone in a aspect ratio/resolution that makes sense. Perfect sight you may need to set up in the game, but you will not need to mess with macro, plugin, or anything else.
Most people who read it possibly connect their gaming rig to a standard 16: 9 monitor, so it will not be enough for you. If you use some less common, however, you probably know why this feature is God’s work.
I think the razor PC remote play is a significant addition to the private game series, especially with its clean display trick.
I think the razor PC remote play game streaming apps is a welcome increase in the world. This may be behind the steam link in some ways, thanks to the screening of the screen and immediate access to the settings, but its modern display is terrific. It may not be as strong as the moonlight, but it is definitely very easy to configure and use.
I want to close it by identifying it, since it’s all based on open source software that is bound to free license, so the PC remote play should always be free. The razer will need to rebuild the service from the beginning to get anything for it, so you do not have to worry that it will start spending money at any time. Even if that happens, you can always bounce the moonlight, which will be free forever.
What do you think? Will you play a remote shot to the Razer PC, or are you sticking with a steam link or moonlight? Tell us in the comments!
