Samsung is eventually looking to bring a new battery to its Galaxy lineup, but it was not expected by fans for the next generation progress.

According to a Korean Outlet report, Samsung is preparing to adopt a new stainless steel -based battery component called “Sussey Cannon”. This silicon carbon battery tech has been greatly appreciated, which has made the waves in the recent flagship release, but this is still a significant improvement. SUS CAN Tech, manufactured by Samsung SDI, promises to increase energy density and faster charging speed, while also paying attention to a common point of pain: swelling in the battery after prolonged use.

Although it may feel like a minor upgrade, this shift can bring solid benefits to future galaxy phones, especially when it comes to longevity and charging performance. Apple is already using this type of battery tech in the iPhone 16 Pro Max, so Samsung is playing ketchup here.

Korean media reports that Samsung plans to adopt a new technology in its next generation model, which can significantly increase battery capacity.

According to the report, this technology contains a stainless steel material developed by the Samsung SDI, which is commonly referred to…

    – Jukanlosario (@jukanlosreve) May 15, 2025Many people were really hoping, though, silicon carbon batteries arrived. This modern tech has already shown in devices like OnePlus 13T, which is surprisingly packed more than 6,200 mAh into the slim body. Similarly, OPPO Find N5 has used silicon carbon for thin foldable with large battery capabilities. On the contrary, the latest Samsung models-which recently rely on the Galaxy S25 Edge, including the Galaxy S25 Age, which has led to small abilities and slowdowns in most generations. Choosing to go with SUS, at least on silicon carbon, for at least now, Samsung has said that Samsung is choosing an enormous step rather than moving forward. Nevertheless, there will be no good news to promote battery performance, especially for the short run Times for foldable users and power users.

There is no timeline yet when SUS batteries will appear in the Galaxy smartphones, but with the alleged development, we can see that Tech will reach the company’s next flagship cycle. Even this Galaxy Z Fold can arrive on time for 7 or Galaxy S26 series.

Until then, Samsung fans have to wait for a combination of big battery, sharp charging, and compact size. However, the horizon is at least progressing, a justification that makes me particularly not enjoying late in the game.
