- Sauce sector is lagging behind others in sustainability and industry
- Digital emissions are growing rapidly and AI is accelerating environmental effects
- Environmental Renewable Energy and Server Lace Digital Infrastructure Puts Fully on Accountability
Stability is not a word that most people are associated with the mother -in -law. Unlike physical infrastructure or global logistics, the software industry often avoids scrutiny when it comes to environmental implications.
With the increase in carbon cost of digital activity, especially in the AI era, it is starting to change.
Since launching just two years ago, an email marketing platform, echoes, renewable energy and server lace infrastructure fully operate. I talked to the company’s founder and CEO James Gul, to understand what the mother -in -law was really sustainable, and what would benefit the industry in the construction of a green digital future.
What does it mean to be sustainable with an online business like you? How do you gauge/monitor your stability?
In the environmental environment, stability is not just a buzzard or later thinking. This as a company is covered in our very DNA.
Since we just launched Equand two years ago, we have run our platform on fully renewable energy and sophisticated ‘server lace’ technology. Being ‘sustainable’ means that our planet has to be the center of every decisions and every corner of our products. Historically, sauce businesses have avoided the level of scrutiny around stability, about which other industries have been exposed.
As a result of this check, companies working in hardware, transport, supply chain, etc. have begun to adapt to more sustainable ways. We firmly believe that sauce companies should shield in the same way, so that we can all take the better future rather than actively left behind.
We will not only rely on the internal process, but external approval and reporting to help us oversee our commitment to stability. We are certified by ‘Green Small Business’ as well as good business charter members, 1 % pledge, and Terra Carta. In addition, we are currently in the process of verifying as B. Corporation.
As a sauce provider, being more environmentally friendly do you face the biggest obstacles in your journey?
One of our biggest challenges that is common in many businesses working in stability, and lacking awareness. Very few people are familiar with the carbon cost of our digital activities, and even if ‘Internet’ was a country, it would have been The fourth most contaminated nation in the world.
Especially by e -mail, more than 360 billion emails are sent daily, according to Statista research. Each email can be one Carbon cost up to 26 grams. Nevertheless, very few marketers are aware of the environmental impact of their campaigns. Although many of us can understand the effects of boiling kettle, the effects of digital activities like sending email seem difficult to wrap one’s head.
So the first challenge is to raise awareness. This challenge is to mobilize secondary change.
One thing for a company is to be aware of the environmental impact of their online activity, but it is another thing to encourage them to provide their email service providers, to transmit data and campaigns.
We make a lot of efforts to make migration to companies as much as possible, so that changing software helps remove connectivity. It includes customs imports and ship -on -on -on -on -on -on -on -on -on -run process for companies who want to switch.
In an ideal world, what would be the benefit of publishing more about the environmental credentials of sauce providers like ours?
I am sure that the initial space will be better aware of the challenge scale. Digital emissions often sit behind other high emission activities, such as air travel reports. But the ‘invisible’ of digital emissions should not be masked on its scale nor its effects.
With the recent, mature increase in AI, the effects of digital emissions will only continue to grow and feel deeper.
The ‘carrot’ encouragement to improve his sustainability credentials for sauces companies will only get us yet. But the increasing coverage of the publishers in the digital sustainability sector will increase the environmental credentials of the sauce companies. This will play an additional ‘stick’ factor in encouraging companies to change in better ways and reporting. Both need to be requested for change.
Ecosand as its USP has stability in its core part. How different is your audience’s makeup than your peers?
We are fortunate to work with hundreds of dedicated B covers, charities, and purpose -driven organizations, for which the concepts of stability and comprehensive capitalism are engaged in their basic morals.
Our clients are determined to grow, to grow, but the main difference is that this growth never comes at the expense of people or planets.
Whether they are business, SMEs, or big corporations. We learn a lot from our client’s efforts to advance digital stability, and we are happy to help them in their mission.
The AI has been praised as a series of stability and a solution to the forest destroyers. What is your benefit on this?
The rise of AI presents both the danger and the opportunity. The decisive factor will be how AI has been deployed. Chat is estimated to use around GPT 39.98 million kW daily. This is more than the annual energy consumption of more than 100 countries.
The irrational use of Ai will only hurt us only on the path we should not. That said, if we can consciously use AI, we can use it to make it a better future. Whether it is automatic ESG reports automatically, reviewing the sustainability of a major supply chain, or increasing the performance of corporations admins. Instead of contributing to our death, there is room for AI to serve us.
If the use of AI is both limited and conscious, I am sure that this stability can be a solution to the challenge. Unfortunately, current trends appear that the opposite is the case.
Where do you go from here? How would you get even more sustainable?
We are currently in the process of verifying as B. Corporation. The process of applying and maintaining the BC Corporation certification will ensure that our company is at the highest standard of B. Corporation for ethical and sustainable business methods. Through this application, we will be publicly accountable to ensure stability, morality and community ‘walk’ in our company, software platform, and supply chain.
Beyond the request of our B. Corporation, we regularly review how to improve our sustainability credentials. These studies have indicated us to play a more active role in our local community through voluntary services at food banks and security locations in London.
An example of the methods we designed – we have always sent a gift to our enterprise client in every Christmas. We send a hamper to send donations instead of sending Beam – An organization that helps people who are homeless in the UK to find stable work and housing. We’ve been sponsored so far Over 50 clients by our contribution.
In addition, we recently added a new tree -planting partner to our ecosystem to improve the monitoring and reporting of where our client trees were planted.
Although we are proud of what we are doing, we know the world needs more – more than us, and from all businesses. We are excited to do more work to protect our home planet and encourage others to follow it.
