    • Google is testing a modified media player layout for Android Auto that transmits the play/pause button.
    • The play/pause button now has a large area of the background and change the placement with the previous button.
    • These changes affect a number of apps but only the home screen card appears on the UI, not the app’s full view.

Google recently demonstrated Gemini for Android Auto, which gave us a glimpse of the platform’s expected upgrade. Beyond, we know that Google is also working on a large Android auto features like climate control UI and even a light theme. Along with them, Google is also experiencing small changes, such as rotating around the media playback buttons, which has left us a bit of our heads.

You are reading Authority insights On the story Android Authority. Quest Authority insights For more special reports, you will not find anywhere else for the app tear, leak, and deep tech coverage.

An AP tear down helps predict the features that can reach a service -based code on the future. However, it is possible that such predators do not make it public release.

Android Auto V14.4.152004 is examining a tweet media player UI. Traditionally, the media player UI has buttons in the setting of “past, present and future” after the timeline “past, present and future”, buttock buttons are placed in the order of forward/forward/next. After this layout, most media players apps on your phone, and they are similarly mirrors with auto at your car head unit. You can see the setting of this traditional media player button in Android Auto Screenshots below:

However, Android is experimenting with the layout by changing positions for the play/pause button with the auto -rewind/back button. The play/pause button also fills a large background. You can see the modified sequence in screenshots below:

However, this spotifies are not adaptable as it expands the media player apps. You can see the modified sequence in YouTube music and geosone apps on Android Auto in screenshots below:

What is the benefit of change, you ask? Your guess will be so good for us.

The changed position can make it easier to hit the play/pause button when driving theoretically, which is our best guess. Filling a big background for the button also makes it a big target to touch it. When the play/pause button reaches, you can mistakenly hit another button (the back button on the right) in the revised setting. On the contrary, the current design has the capacity of error in any direction.

However, these arguments weigh against muscle memory, and it is more important to respect it while driving.

It is worth noting that the changed sequence only affects the card UI on the Android Auto Home screen. You can tap the card to open the full app with regular media playback controls.
