Android Auto V14.4.152004 is examining a tweet media player UI. Traditionally, the media player UI has buttons in the setting of “past, present and future” after the timeline “past, present and future”, buttock buttons are placed in the order of forward/forward/next. After this layout, most media players apps on your phone, and they are similarly mirrors with auto at your car head unit. What is the benefit of change, you ask? Your guess will be so good for us.
The changed position can make it easier to hit the play/pause button when driving theoretically, which is our best guess. Filling a big background for the button also makes it a big target to touch it. When the play/pause button reaches, you can mistakenly hit another button (the back button on the right) in the revised setting. On the contrary, the current design has the capacity of error in any direction.
However, these arguments weigh against muscle memory, and it is more important to respect it while driving.
It is worth noting that the changed sequence only affects the card UI on the Android Auto Home screen. You can tap the card to open the full app with regular media playback controls.
