Apple is searching for the idea of bringing an AI tool in Safari. Google is currently the top search engine 4.9 billion users.
The news comes during a testament to the US Department of Justice’s non -confidence trial against Google.
Eddie Qi, senior vice president of Apple’s services, revealed Bloomberg The company is seriously considering to allow users to select AI from a wide range of AI search engines in the future version of Safari.
Why does it make a difference
Google currently plays an estimate to Apple Billion 20 billion each year To remain a default search engine on Apple Devices. If Apple starts giving users more and more AI-powered options-even as a secondary selection-it can indicate a significant change in how we access the flow of online information and search taxes in the tech industry.
Qi also noted that the safari search traffic dropped for the first time in April 2025, which rapidly attributed the drop to the AI platform like Chat GPT to answer questions and find information.
Can AI search engines be included? While no official timeline has been announced, Apple is allegedly considering this:

The inclusion of these tools will not necessarily replace Google (at least not yet), but this will allow users to access these AI engines directly from the browser interface.

The Apple AI has been relatively quiet in the arms race, but the move shows that it is focusing on how productive AI is changing the customer’s behavior.
