    Introduction

Motorola has joined the race for the thinnest and lightest smartphone with the newly launched Edge 70. It’s the global version of the China-locked Moto X70 Air, and making it the headliner of the next-gen series is a brilliant move.

Motorola’s Edge series has been experimenting with all kinds of phone types for quite some time now. It’s a natural continuation of what Motorola has been doing for the past few years, as opposed to Samsung and Apple’s shot in the dark.

The Motorola Edge 70’s standout features are its 6mm thin profile, 159g weight, and an impressive 4,800mAh battery for those measurements.

The Edge 70 packs a 6.7-inch OLED with 1220p resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support and Gorilla Glass 7i protection. The chipset of choice here is Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 coupled with 12GB of RAM by default.

The camera department includes a 50MP OIS primary for wide and 2x zoomed photos, a 50MP AF ultrawide camera for panoramic and macro shots, and a 50MP selfie imager. All cameras support at least 4K30 capping.

Motorola has also packed a relatively large battery – a 4,800mAh cell with support for 68W wired and 15W wireless charging.

The phone’s slimness hasn’t compromised durability—the Edge 70 is both IP68 and IP69 rated, as well as meeting multiple MIL-SDT-810H standards.

Motorola has also packed a transparent Magsafi ready case, which is nice. It is used for wireless charging and connecting any third-party Magsafi accessories to the back of the phone.
