OnePlus has announced the latest member of its mid-range ACE series in China, called the OnePlus ACE 6T. This is also the phone that will eventually be launched in other markets as the OnePlus 15R.
The OnePlus 6T will be the first phone to launch with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip. We don’t currently know much about the chip, and while it’s easy to assume that it will be slower than the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, it’s unclear where it sits in relation to the previous flagship, the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
Other features include a 6.7-inch 1.5K resolution 165Hz OLED display with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, a dual 50MP main + 8MP ultra-wide camera system with a 32MP selfie shooter on the back, IP68, IP68, IP69K ratings, vapor chamber cooling, and finally a massive 8000mAh battery. This phone is running on the latest color 16 in China.
Black • Green • Purple
ACE 6T will be available in three colors, Black, Green and Purple. The phone will use micro-arc oxidation for the metal frame as seen on the OnePlus 15. Black and green glass will have a silky texture while purple uses a fiberglass back.
It is now fair to say that the upcoming OnePlus 15R will be based on the new ACE 6T model instead of the ACE 6 as we assumed earlier. The only difference we can see right now is that the 15R doesn’t come in the purple of the 6T but retains the black and green. Whether it sees more localized changes.
