Anker Maggo Wireless Charging Station 3-IN-1 Pad Review
Anker Maggo Wireless Charging Station 3-in-1 Pad is a conveniently designed tabletop charger capable of charging iPhone, Apple Watch, and compatible earbud cases. Its list price on the Anker website. 99.99 / £89.99 / au $199.95 and is also available to buy from Amazon. I was provided with the Stone Black model of the Anker Maggo Wireless Charging Station 3-in-1 Pad, which is available here in the UK, US and Australia. More than a pond in America also gets an additional color choice of Shell White.
The design of Maggo Wireless Charging Station 3-in-1 Pad is simple yet attractive. All visible materials look good quality, and there are some attractive little details like the metalized finish on the iPhone charger’s foldable stand. The top surface and sides of the charging station have a soft matte finish that doesn’t seem to scratch easily, which is beneficial since my very long (and very pink) nails can be problematic for some matte finishes.
The Apple Watch and iPhone charging modules fold onto the 0.53-inch/14mm-deep base pad, but when the former sits below the surface, the iPhone charging pad sits at least 0.2 inches/5mm above, raising questions about how it would fair if packed in a drawer or bag.
The Apple Watch charger was easy to follow from below. However, the iPhone charging module proved more difficult to extend in the standing position. Again, I needed to push through the bottom of the base, but this proved awkward because the hinges on the iPhone charger arm were quite stiff, making it difficult for me to extend it and extend it to that angle. The stiffness of the hinges meant they were strong enough to hold the position while the phone was in the situation though, so that’s at least the silver lining.
As expected due to the large surface area, the Inker Maggo Wireless Charging Station 3-in-1 pad gets dusty easily. For the most part, this is easily eliminated with a quick wipe thanks to the smooth surface, but, perhaps the silicone, the ring of the AirPods charging area is a bit attached to its unmoving friends. Anker says this charger is “easily portable,” and while it may be true to its slab-like design, its 12 oz / 340 g weight makes it heavy enough to be travel-friendly like some of the best wireless chargers.
I appreciated that the shape of the charging station meant that each charger was easily accessible and I could see each of my devices. The only downside is that it takes up a lot of surface space and, while I prefer this format to other well-performing chargers like See ESR QI2 3-IN-1 Wireless Charging SetAt 9 x 3.37 inches / 229 x 86 mm, the Inker Maggo Wireless Charging Station 3-in-1 Pad won’t be handy if you have limited space on your desk or nightstand.
The Anker MagGo Wireless Charging Station 3-in-1 Pad took just thirty-five minutes to charge the 3,095mah iPhone 13 Pro to fifty percent, and a full charge took one hour and eighty minutes, which is pretty average speed compared to other 3-in-1 MagSafe chargers I’ve tested.
This speeds up iPhone charging by 20 minutes Magsaf with sprout 3-in-1 cubeand twenty minutes slower than the fastest wireless charger I’ve tested to date Anker Maggo Wireless Charging Station 3-in-1 Stand — but that wasn’t surprising, as I’ve yet to find another wireless charger that comes close to matching that speed.
Where the Anker Maggo Wireless Charging Station 3-in-1 Pad proved above average was with the speed of its Apple-certified Quick Apple Watch charger. When I finished charging my Series 9 Apple Watch, I did a double take, because it only took 55 minutes to fully recover. This impressive speed makes it the fastest Apple Watch charger I’ve tested to date, with a difference of eight minutes. Anker Maggo Wireless Charging Station 3-in-1 Foldable Pad Off the top spot
Overall, I found the Anker Maggo Wireless Charging Station 3-in-1 Pad to be a convenient and attractive charging station. I was happy with the charging speed, and the external materials appeared to be of good quality.
Anker and I have to agree on its being “easily portable,” and the hinge and folding of the iPhone module could be improved, but other than that, it made a nice addition to my desktop.
