- Google has begun to feature calling cards in contacts and phone apps.
- This feature allows you to create a stylish profile for your contacts.
- This is different from Apple’s contact posters, which facilitates you to make a poster for yourself.
We have been tracking the Calling Card feature in the Google Contacts app for weeks. We have not really seen this process, but all the signs point to the taking of Android on the feature of Apple contact posters. Now, we have got our first look at this feature as it is coming to some users.
We downloaded the latest version of the Google Contacts app (Version 4.61.28.792249534) and discovered that the feature of calling cards is now available. We didn’t have to tinker to see this feature. In addition, some users on the telegram report that they have this feature. You can watch our screenshots below and our video below.
Perhaps the most notable thing about the calling card feature is that it works differently than Apple’s contact posters. Apple allows you to customize your image and profile, and lets you change how others see you, but you can’t change other people’s posters. Google, however, is quite the opposite. You have full control of how other people’s calling cards will look, but you cannot customize your card.
While watching in the Google Connector app, you will see a signal to add a calling card for them. However, when you add contact or edit, you can also add a calling card. So there is no shortage of ways to add this card.
Once you decide to add the card, you can catch a picture from your camera, gallery, or Google Photo. From here, you can select font styles and colors for your contact. Once you selected the color of the font and the name you will be asked if you want to use the calling card as a contact picture. But you can leave this step. In any way, your calling card will be compatible with your Google account, so it will appear on other devices.

We can also see the calling card popup in the Google Phone app (version 188.0.793710089-Publicbeta-Pixel2024), which indicates you to “start”. The app also includes a calling card field in the settings. Taping this field will show which contacts have a calling card. You can see these screens below.
In any case, it seems that the feature is currently coming to some son users. We hope that this feature will come to a stable consumers in the coming days, as this is a sophisticated way to accelerate calls.
