Some models of Apple’s popular air pods may be able to perform directly, personal language translations soon when you squeeze both trunks simultaneously.
According to a photo posted by the websites, including 9TO5mac, the touch gesture is presented in a system asset that is part of Apple iOS 26 developer beta 6. In the image, this gesture is shown on a couple of air pods with words in languages, including English, Spanish, German, French and Portuguese. In June, Apple showed AI -powered direct translation features in which it plans to create messages, facetime and phone for apps.
But the company did not specifically mention a direct translation on Air Pods, though reports have been reported since early March. According to 9TO5MAC, this feature is likely to work with Air Pods Pro 2 and Air Pods fourth models. It is unclear whether direct translations will be available in Apple Devices or if it will be special to new product models, such as the company’s upcoming iPhone 17 lineup.
Apple did not immediately respond to a comment request.
What does this mean for Apple users
A scenario, if Apple has chosen to make direct translation features available instead of skin, it will have to make a feature of the iPhone 17 Apple Intelligence, which is expected to start in September. If, as some people have speculated, the translation work will be done on this device, instead of taking action on the air pods itself, it is possible that Apple can launch a software update and then translate translations on some airpod models.
The sales point may be worth the iPhone 17 to such a magic feat with its first Apple device and with hardware.
However, the company may face criticism: Samsung phones have the ability to directly translate phone calls since 2024 Galaxy S24. And they are not the same. Meta -ray Bans also has direct translation properties in smart glasses, such as some other gadgets, such as pixel buds, such as 2017.
