Here Android AuthorityWe spend a lot of time talking about the best Android phones you buy at any time. Want a great camera phone? Long battery life? Something at a lower price? We know the right phone for you.

But there is another side of this coin: Android you call Should not be Buy Which phone are you better than bouncing? As a person who has been reviewing and writing about Android phones for a decade, I am this to answer.

Although there are unidentified brands of unknown brands on Amazon and other online retailers that you should always avoid, I am focusing on this list on large Android phones you are already considering. Also, while there are some phones that we have previously recommended, it is not necessary to have the best purchase in August 2025.

This is Great Without further ado, there are seven Android phones that I do not yet recommend buying.

What do you think is the worst Android phone to buy in August 2025?

    Google Pixel 9

C Scott Brown / Android Authority

    Pixel 9

My first two choices may find it contradictory, as they are the highest level phones of the past year, but there is a good reason for their involvement in the list. It starts with the base model Google Pixel 9.

The biggest reason not to buy Pixel 9 is that Pixel 10 is to be announced on August 20, and it is forming an important upgrade. It is expected that a new 5X telephoto camera (which does not have Pixel 9), Q2 wireless charging built -in magnets, a large battery, and a slightly wired charging will be displayed.

Perhaps even more important is the tanker G5 chip that will be within Pixel 10. It is widely convinced that G5 will not only be Google’s first 3 NM chip, but it will be the first manufactured by TSMC. Unless we put hands on the phone, nothing is confirmed, but it can also result in a considerable performance and performance upgrade compared to the Pixel 9 tanker G4 chip set.

Given how important we expect upgrade is that we expect Pixel 10, buying a new model here is not the best idea to buy less than two weeks. I recommend that if we are suspected, wait for Pixel 10 to buy, and if not, you should be able to get a pixel 9 at a heavy discount price after his successor arrives.

My next few phones have been group together to avoid, as I advised to buy is the same for these three. I’m talking about Google Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. In addition to the regular Pixel 10, we also expect Google to announce new pro phones in the August 20 event – which includes Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

Unlike Pixel 10, none of the Pixel 10 Pro model is reported to have received new camera hardware. However, other upgrades – such as Q2 magnetic charging, large batteries, sharp wired charging, and tanker G5 chip – are all on the table.

Pixel 10 Pro is able to wait a while to come here.

Although the reasons for waiting are slightly different, the same logic applies as it is at Base Pixel 9. If you are discussing the purchase of Pixel 9 Pro Model, Pixel 10 Pro is able to wait a little more for the Pixel 10 Pro. At this time, you can decide whether new phones are able to buy, or if you get last year’s model (potential) at a discounted price.

    Samsung Galaxy S. 25 Edge

    Ryan Hans / Android Authority

Google is not the only company that has Android phones that refrain from buying you now. Given Samsung, I find it very difficult to recommend anyone to buy a galaxy S25 edge.

My colleague Ryan Hans in his review gave the Galaxy S25 Edge 3 out of 3 out of 5, criticizing Edge’s poor thermals, lack of telephoto camera, weak battery life, and slow charging. For a phone that costs $ 1,100, the Galaxy S25 Edge is not enough.

Since its inception in May, the Galaxy S25 Edge has been a difficult recommendation, but the recent Galaxy S26 Age rumors has reinforced this point. One rumor claims that the S26 edge will be thin from the S25 edge, while a large 4,400mAh battery will be packaged simultaneously – which will potentially fix our biggest problem with the current edge.

There is a more remarkable report than that Android Authority It was published in July, where we found evidence that Samsung would close the Galaxy S26 Plus next year and replace it with the Galaxy S26 Age. This means that we can see that the S26 Edge continued more than expected in the early years. It also means that the Galaxy S25 Edge can be old in just a few months, so buying it is not the best idea.

    Samsung Galaxy A36 5G

    Rashil Agarwal / Android Authority

Sticking to Samsung, the company has another Ho Ho Hami phone with the Galaxy A36 5G. The A36 is a $ 400 handset that does not look at the least, at least. With a large emulated panel, solid hardware, and good battery life, don’t like?

As it reveals, a suitable amount. In our Galaxy A36 5G review, my colleague Rashil got numerous problems with the phone. This is the most harmful performance. Not only does the Ekinos 1380 chip set benchmark do not perform well, but it is also slow for tasks as scrolls through apps or opening the camera. A paired with a Super A slow fingerprint sensor, A36 is a phone that will test your patience, and not well.

The good news is that better smartphones are available at a similar price. Google Pixel 9A is one of the best phones we have reviewed this year, which has performed great cameras, excellent software updates, reliable battery life, and well. The fingerprint sensor is also very good. Pixel 9A is more expensive at $ 499, but at the time of publication, it is only sold in 9 399.

$ 400 MotoG Styls (2025) is another good alternative. And if you are fine with some potential career, nothing else buy phone 3A and 3A pro better. There are a lot of great Android phones available in the range of ~ 400, but the Galaxy A36 5G is not one of them.

    Motorola MotoG (2025)

    Ryan Hans / Android Authority

Talking about MotoG phones, there is another in the current portfolio of Motorola, which is better. MotoG (2025) includes an excellent design and decent display, and in just $ 200, it looks an incredible deal. However, this is one of the cases where the presence can be fraudulent.

Ryan did not hit the bush in our MotoG (2025) review, just saying he doesn’t think you should buy the phone – and I fully agree with it. Motoji (2025) suffers from slow performance, disappointing camera, weak water resistance, and a terrible software update policy. (Motorola has promised only two years of Android OS updates.)

You may be willing to ignore some compromises with the phone like Motoji (2025), but the fact is that you can do much better for your money. The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G has the same $ 200 price tag, but it is a better phone overall. If you live outside the US or are fine with some potential career issues, CMF Phone 2 Pro is an incredible bargaining in just 9 279.
