- Samsung has announced the ‘Voice Fishing Call Alert’ feature in an UI 8.
- Only this feature of Korea can warn you that the person you are calling is using sound phishing.
- There is no word on widespread release, but if effective, it will be a helpful source on galaxy phones.
Samsung already offers a smart call feature to fight Spam calls, but sound phishing attacks have emerged as a new threat. The criminals have used AI to copy someone else’s voice to throw their loved ones. Now, Samsung has announced a feature to resolve this plan.
Samsung announced on its Korean community forum that it would present the ‘Voice Fishing Call Alert’ feature in the Stable One 8.
When calling an unknown number, we find you in real time using AI and inform you whether there is any doubt of sound phishing.
A company representative says that when you call an unsafe number, you will see a “detection” warning. You will then receive a warning notification if there is suspicion of sound phishing or it is detected. See the machine translated screenshots below.
Samsung claims that this feature has detected the sound of sound by using data from the Korean National Police Agency and the National Institute of Scientific Investigations.
Unfortunately, this feature is still limited to Korea. I really hope that Samsung will bring this feature to global consumers, because if it actually works according to the ad, it can be a major source of increasing risk. Saying, it is surprising that this feature does not work for incoming calls. Our fingers have been crossed that this feature eventually works in both directions, because the current implementation means that people are not safe when the invader calls them.
