I have experienced many excellent laptops in many years, and the new Lenovo Think Book Plus General 6 Rollable is easily the most unique. Its name may probably give it an important feature, but most people will not probably know what the “rollable” laptop is without further explanation. I know that when I heard about this notion notebook two years ago, I didn’t.
Well, Lenovo’s rollable laptop is no longer a concept, as a review unit just arrived at our office a few days ago. We had to check Lenovo’s first roleable laptop in CES 2025, but I gave him just a cursory look because my focus was on Lenovo Lashkar. Now that I have had the opportunity to join hands with this rollable laptop, I can tell you that this is the opposite that I’ve ever experienced-and I mean that is possible in the best way.
I will soon have a thorough review of the Lenovo Think Book Plus General 6 Rollable for you, but for now, I wanted to share my initial ideas, as it is really a specific laptop. Although this is definitely strange (and very expensive), it is not something we should reject as clever. In fact, this can be exactly what you need to increase your productivity.

As I mentioned earlier, not everyone is familiar with the rollable devices. As a result, I will provide a brief summary to help you understand what Lenovo’s rollable laptop is.
A rollable device uses a flexible display that usually allows the screen to rolling or back or back by rolling the screen into and out of the residence through a motorcycle mechanism. You can think of it like a window shade or even scroll. As we have explained in a piece of our foldable phones vs Rollable phones, this technology is different from foldable phones, which is half -section.

In addition to the thinkbook, General 6 rollable, a part of the display is inside the laptop. On a button press on the keyboard deck, the laptop display moves upwards, with 120 herts increase the OLED panel from 14 to 16.7 inches.
You can even hear the motor rotating because the display is extended or withdrawn, which is something I have not heard on the CES show floor actually.
Now when we know how this laptop works, let’s get into it.
An unusual experience

I probably should not acknowledge this as a tech journalist, but after examining hundreds of devices, you are easy to jade about technology. The magic of examining something new is a feeling that is sometimes difficult to occupy. I did not expect that the thinkbook Plus would be surprised by General 6 Rollable because I had already seen it in CES.
Then I spent five minutes to do anything except press the button, which increases the display and withdraws. It may look stupid, but relying on me, turning the screen up and down to the old magic that I talked about. To think that you have to be a super -jade person who has seen this rollable function is not one of the best things you’ve seen. It will put a smile on your face.
Putting the cool element aside, such a comedy long display is actually beneficial to work. With an additional 50 % screen real estate, you can scroll long pages or documents more efficiently than you will do on the display 16: 9 or 16:10. You may have two (or more) apps above each other, which can be useful if you do not have an external display.

To be included in the details, the Think Book Plus General 6 Rollable has two display methods effectively. Primary One 2000 X 1600 resolution and 5: 4 aspect ratio is 14 inches. In expansion, the screen is 16.7 inches, with 2000 x 2350 resolution, which is 8: 9 aspect ratio. Those resolutions and aspects are not normal for laptops, but whether it enters or out, everything in the display looks sharp and dynamic.
So far, on my time, I was not disappointed with the performance of this laptop. Thanks to its Intel Core Ultra 7 258V CPU, 32GB Ram and 1 TBSD, it easily handles my average workflow. He also performed well in the Gack Bench CPU Benchmark. I will have a complete account of his performance in my upcoming review.
Downward side

Lenovo Think Book Plus General 6 Rollable is uncertain, but it is certainly not perfect. With the understanding that I am still examining this laptop, I have already noted some flaws that can be harmful in both long and short -term. And I’m not just talking about the price of parked $ 3,299.
11.9 x 9.08 x 0.75 (when roll and closed) and weighs 3.7 pounds, Lenovo’s rollable laptop is not huge or heavy. However, it is also significantly thicker than the 14 -inch MacBook Pro M4, which is 0.61 inches thick. I do not surprise the thickness of the laptop, because it needs a place to enter the display. But if you are looking for a thin laptop, it is not.

Another thing I am not delighted is the inconvenience of using hand gestures to roll and enroll the display. You should have an open hand near the laptop webcam and wait for a hand screen icon before moving your hand up or down to the proper action. However, it doesn’t always work, if it works at all. I may eventually nail this action, but now, we just say that I’m glad there is a button so I don’t have to rely on gestures to roll and enroll the display.
Finally, there is a question of stability. When we asked Lenovo, a company representative told us that the display of this laptop had been ranked about 20,000 open. It may seem a lot, but keep in mind that foldable phones like the Galaxy Z Fold 6 have been ranked 250,000.
However, since you can’t permanently increase the display on a phone, 20,000 opening can be more than enough. Nevertheless, stability is something that can eventually become a problem.
Outlook
Lenovo is always ready to make some modern efforts, as we have seen with Lenovo Yoga Book 9I and Lenovo Think Pad X1 Fold 16 that we have reviewed. That is why I can appreciate what the company is doing with the General 6 Rollables in addition to thinkbook. Yes, it is expensive and weird, but it can also be the ideal laptop for people who travel a lot and do not want to surround an external monitor to get more screen space.
Again, I will have a thorough review of the Lenovo Think Book in addition to the General 6 Rollables as well as additional relevant content, so keep in connection with it!
