All the time and then companies really make bone -powered decisions, which happened when Dell eliminated the name of its most famous PC line and replaced it with ordinary things. It is as if Ford decided to re -nominate Mustang and instead call it a prime sports car. It doesn’t mean. But now that the XPS has become a premium, it is time to see if the latest flagship of Dell’s 14-inch Ultra-Portable-Del-14 Premium (do you see how dumb it looks?)-is still DNA who has made his predecessors a great notebook for more than a decade.
Design and Display: How does Dell P put into a premium
Instead of fully designing to meet its latest names, Dell for 2025 laid the same chassis he used on last year’s XPS 14. And I’m not crazy at all because it is still one of the most beautiful and beautiful notebooks in the market today. Its aluminum chassis has only the correct amount of clean lines, a gorilla glass 3 levels and the ports for laptops: Thunderbolt 4 with three USB-C slot, a 3.5 mm audio jack and microSD slot. This is important, because the younger siblings of the 14 premium-PS-13 (which is not yet being named because it is not being updated this year)-the headphone jack or the built-in card reader is not. That said, between 3.66 and 3.79 pounds depends on what display you choose, 14 premiums are much heavier than some of its rivals, such as 14 -inch MacBook Pro (3.4 pounds). The difference is so small that I am not worried, though.
Deal / Enjogs
Although Dell nominated XPS 14 with a new and clear name, it is still a bit of a global Windows laptop that was his predecessor.

There is also a touch pad with a glass wrist, which is found hidden in the deck, which makes it difficult to use it. However, because the tracking area is quite widely (it spreads on the right area besides the entire area under the space bar), the right ALT and the copelot keys), I never felt tight or I need to actively find my cursor. I also appreciate how Dell got a place for speakers on both sides of the keyboard.
On the other hand, the Dell’s touch button number can be a bit more controversial above the row. I don’t mind these people to adjust the volume and display the brightness, but just feel a bit strange to replace the escape physical keys and delete the touch screen options. Especially if you ever need to use the classic Windows Ctrl + Alt + DEL shortcut and press regular keys and touch controls in the same move. When you disable the keyboard backlight, touch keys do not stop, but at least they are so dimmed that they are not disturbing.
Dell 14 Premium can be equipped with an optional OLED display for $ 200, which is worth extra cost in our opinion.

As far as its display is concerned, 14 premiums come with 14.5 inch 2k 120Hz non -touch IPS display. However, on our review unit, I am using the Dell’s Optional 3.2K 120Hz Touch OLED panel and I must say, it is definitely worth $ 200. The reason for this is that when the OLED screen has a slightly maximum sparkle (400 nets vs. 500 nets for IPS), but its wide color aspect and the proportion of much better than reducing it is higher.
Performance: not latest, but still very versatile
A base deal comes with 14 Premium Intel Core Ultra 7 2555H CPU, 16GB RAM and 512 GBM 2 storage. However, in our Overview Unit, additional memory (32GB), a large SSD (1 TB) and perhaps most importantly, an optional NVIDIA RTX 4050 GPU.
It seems difficult to find the hidden touchpad of Dell 14 Premium, but it is so big that it never becomes a problem.

All were told, this is a very well rounded package, as Dell’s default conference has more performance than enough performance to handle any level of regular production capacity. And by increasing the support of discrete graphics, suddenly you have a machine that is significantly better to take care of video editing or even more demanding tasks like gaming at your time. Bakhobi, 14 Premium RTX 4050 card is an entry level component that has recently become a generation age, but it was strong enough to be killed in 60 FPS. Cyberpank 2077 is at 1080p at high settings (balanced with DLSS), which is not even a shrub to consider its transportation.
Battery Life: is good enough
Unlike Dell’s Small XPS 13 (which is not being updated for 2025), 14 premiums contain 3.5 mm audio jack and micro SD card slots.
(Sam Ruder Ford for Enjat)
Dell 14 Premium does not pack good but outstanding battery life thanks to its 69.5Whr power pack. On the modern office roundown test of PC Mark 10, it lasted for 8 hours and 30 minutes on the dot, which is significantly taller than Asus’ pathoz flu 13 (6:54) and last year’s Roger Blade 14 (6:46), but still is Asus Zen Bok (12:43) or even with his own X -13:43.
Wrap
Even despite a new and instead of unorganized names, it may not be surprising that Dell 14 is one of the best Windows laptops in the premium market. It has the same sleek design from behind when it was still called the XPS 14 but with some refreshing spears and ingredients for 2025. Its chassis produces a wonderful balance between modern minerals and use, while upgrades such as OLED display and discrete graphics give you the ability to make a versatile but still very portable device.
Dell 14 Premium is made from aluminum and Gorilla Glass 3 and is available in two colors: platinum and graphite.

Now I admit that our fully loaded over -filled unit is a bit expensive with a retail price of $ 2,450, though I will be refusing to mention that Dell is currently running a sale that knocks $ 200 at this cost. Regardless, with the base model, when starting with $ 1,650 (before discount) or 8,1850, when the Dell’s optional OLED panel (on which everyone should consider at least), 14 premiums still feel like a huge thing. And when you consider that the XPS13 is not getting any refreshments at the top of the lower ports this year, the choice becomes even more clear. If I was going to spend my money on traditional Windows’s ultraportable laptop, this is the laptop I get.
