- In the latest beta of the Gemini Android app, we saw an option to connect audio files, such as MP3s, chats.
- “Talk Live about it” is also indicated, but the audio has not yet been properly prosecuted.
- Although this feature may not be fully operational, we know that Gemini can understand audio.
Ever wish you can only throw an MP3 in Gemini and explain what is about it? It’s coming soon, as we have seen preliminary indications of audio file support in the Gemini app for Android.
⚠ ⚠ An AP tear down helps predict the features that can reach a service -based code on the future. However, it is possible that such predators do not make it public release.
In the Google App Beta version 16.30.59.Sa.Arm64, we managed to activate a new feature attachment to the file while chatting with Gemini. Now you can attach audio files like MP3s, and when you do, Gemini shows a new suggestion: “Talk directly about it.” It seems hopeful, but it really doesn’t work.
After uploading the audio file, you can either type a regular question or choose to “talk directly” about it. In both cases, Gemini does not understand or respond to the file in any meaningful way. Sometimes it completely ignores audio. Other times, it produces things with confidence, as seen in the third screenshot below, but chat boot fraud is not special to audio files or Gemini.
Still, it is not difficult to see where it is going. On the developer, Gemini already supports audio input through API. You can feed it audio and ask it to explain what it listens, summarizes, or what is being said can be copied. Even it handles the time stamp requests like “2:30 to 3:29” and works with formats such as MP3, WAV, and FLAC.
It is likely that what Google is developing on the Android app – we are not yet there. For now, it is more like a place holder than a prepared feature, and there is no guarantee when and when it will launch. However, with a large -scale image upload in the Gemini app, audio support looks like a logical next step.
