- Google is developing an AI -powered “notification organizer” to group your information, news and social category in the social category.
- Android is expected to be debuted in 16 quarterly releases, the feature identifies silence and bundle warnings as a match in one of the four types.
- This feature can be special with the pixel at the launch, and users will be able to exempt specific apps, ensuring that important warnings are not stopped.
Update 1, 4 August, 2025 (03:33 pm et): We have discovered a new animation in the Android Canary release in July 2025, which shows the upcoming Android Notification Organizer feature. Take a look:
The original article, July 8, 2025 (07:45 AM et): Notifications offer a sharp way to stay updated, but their permanent barrage can disrupt. Although every app for your attention does this work, not all of its reports are so important at that moment. Google, Google, to help you handle this arrival more efficiently, is developing a “notification organizer” feature that uses AI to group your notifications into category. This feature can begin in the first quarter of Android 16.
E -mail apps like Gmail automatically set your inbox, Android’s upcoming “notification organizer” will apply the same principle to your notifications. This feature will use AI to analyze your upcoming warnings and, when it indicates a match, will silence the notification and bund it in one of the four types:
- Promotions: Sales, new features, and much more
- News: High stories, institutions, and a lot
- Social: Like, posts, and much more
- Suggested: Newsletter, recommended media, and more
I discovered evidence of this feature at the end of last year when it was called “bundle notifications”. Since then, some important details have been revealed. Google has named its name “Notification Organizer”, a name that describes its function more accurately. In addition, the details of this feature now clearly state that it is “powerful with AI and can make mistakes”, which confirms our first doubts about the use of artificial intelligence. If a notification is classified, the information channel will be updated to ensure the future, similar information is bundled.
The “Notification Organizer” framework is a part of the open source version of Android 16, which is not a special proprietary component for pixel phones. However, this does not mean that this feature will be available on all Android 16 devices. In fact, the basic AI service that analyzes and setting the notification is part of the Assistant Service, which is present in the Android System Intelligence app and is not included in the OS open source version.

The “Improved Information” System Notification Service enables the Android System Intelligence, in this case to take action on notifications.
Although the Android System Intelligence app is available on many devices, it is possible that the “Notification Organizer” may still be a special feature from the pixel at the time of launch. We speculate that it can debut with the next Pixel 10 series and that the future Pixel drop can be included in old models. This is uncertain, especially since it is unclear whether this feature will rely on a powerful on device like Gemini Nano, which is not available on all pixel devices.
We have also learned what information will be bundled in every category, which goes beyond our previous estimates based on their names. Unfortunately, we still do not have this feature directly, as it is not worth in the latest Android release. However, to get a glimpse of the user’s control, it was able to manually present its settings page manually on Android 16 Qpr1 beta 2, running a pixel 8 pro.

This settings page shows a final description: you will be able to exempt from organizing specific apps. This allows important information to remain prominent rather than bundle. The ability to opt out any app shows that this feature will be widely applicable to all notifications, which reinforces why this detail warns about AI’s potential mistakes-there are many diverse content to analyze it and occasionally rate a warning.
